I’m not seeing a problem with it either. If you run at a cop yelling for him to shoot you, your wishes should be accommodated as far as I’m concerned.
Witnesses report that shootee was shouting ‘SHOOT ME SHOOT ME’ while charging the cop.

I remember flying into Love Field years ago as a charter pilot before the insanity of Muslim Violence. I landed and went to the FBO. The customer left the aircraft and went to his business meeting and returned a few hours later. He did not go through security as their was no need. I flew him home. I miss those days and also understand why security is necessary. It is is sad but that is way it is.

Shooter was a cop, looked to be Hispanic - cop’s name hasn’t been released yet, neither has the shootee’s.
Also, this is Texas and there were lots of witnesses already on record as seeing the guy charge the cop twice, yelling SHOOT ME SHOOT ME. Being Texas, everyone will figure the guy got what he deserved for it. This isn’t going to be another Ferguson.
Yup. This isn’t up north where that will intimidate cops into backing off and ‘giving you room to destroy.’ DPD will just shoot you instead, as you asked them to. :P
You need additional law enforcement training. One cop should be yelling "Get Down! On the ground now!" while another yells "Don't move. Don't move'."
Do what one of them is ordering, and the other one shoots you for not doing what you were told. Everyone that matters gets to go home safely.

Possibly true, but firing off rounds can serve a purpose or two, in some circumstances.
The guy was all mouth and movement apparently. A cop hates to have to land a bullet, until challenged to protect himself, or others.
Probably the cop did not want perp to enter back into the baggage claim area to threaten others, or to grab and hold another in the line of fire.
