The world is still paying attention to millennials and their migration habits, despite Generation Zs incoming threat. And while millennials appear to like cities, thanks to their good public transportation and myriad Apple Stores, a new study says some of the worlds biggest urban areas are in danger of losing their young people in the next 10 years.
Global initiative group YouthfulCities interviewed 15,000 millennials in 34 cities all over the world, splitting them up by continent. And of those millennials, 58 percent said they planned to leave their city within the next decade, noting that theyre being driven out by high costs of living, safety issues, and problems with employment.

San Francisco
Once a proud Golden Gate
Now they just desecrate
Theyve got AIDS and no kids.
The song used to be:
San Francisco
Open your golden gate
You let no stranger wait
outside your door.
“high costs of living, safety issues, and problems with employment. ”
IOW mommy running out of money.
Young white people will flee the minority infested cesspools, but will continue to pay lip-service to “diversity is our strength” and Black Lies Matter.
They would freak out here in my township.Every night it’s me or some of the neighbors doing some range time. Some full autos in the mix too.
I used to work from my boat. When I worked for myself had a whole set up on the boat so could work from there or home.
I preferred the boat. Hehe
Just great! And with their movement to smaller towns/cities, they will bring their Nancy boy ideologies and preconceived notions of life as they think it should be.
Sometimes, I like to watch these shows where people go house-hunting, armed with a list of must-have features and a price limit.
Usually, the price is way more than our suburban house costs.
It’s the opposite for us. They usually show folks buying a four bedroom house with a three-car garage and 5 acres of land for less than what a studio apartment costs here.
So they move to the ‘burbs and turn them Dem and wonder why things still suck.
alternate lyrics:
San Francisco
Open up your Golden Gate
Homeless people need to defecate
In a public place who could ask for more
That was good. Millennials are like the old beatniks with the exception that there are a lot more millennials than there ever was beatniks and beatniks had more ambition.
Obama is running out of time.....
Unless he is going to grant himself another term
I found a link to that on a thread a few days ago and was just chomping at the bit to re-post it. I’m glad you liked it too.
+1
Same as it ever was...
We’re not all like that though! It’s been a painful slog fighting the leftists in undergrad and grad school. I just finished the latter and I’m somewhat embittered in what I had to hear.
Big cities are coffins.
Yes, but you are now a real intelligence asset.
“Someday you have to grow up
Realize the cities suck for raising kids
Having a house bigger than a college dorm would be nice as well
And not having crack heads breaking into your apartment to steel your TV is good too”
Not much more to be said than that. I never thought I would stay in Iowa, but at a certain point (and I’m a boomer) you just want to be able to go about your life in peace and be able to afford a roof over your head.
My FReeper son just about died when he lost his job and ended up moving out here from Seattle, but now he’s married to a local girl and living the clean, life-is-pretty-good, Midwestern life.
We like what cities offer, and they’re good for a visit, but we’re glad to be out of them.
As a so called “generation Xer” (aka slacker) I feel your pain.
