A boycott of Target continues following a meeting between company officials and representatives from the American Family Association, which initiated the boycott that has attracted more than a million individual supporters.
Target is inviting transgender employees and customers to use the bathroom and changing room for the gender they identify with. According to Target, the policy is all about inclusivity and making people feel welcome.
American Family Association is boycotting Target, saying the policy puts women and children at risk of sexual predators who may take advantage of the policy. After AFA shared these concerns with Target officials Wednesday, the retailer stood by its policy.
"Target was very polite and very professional and they heard out our concerns over their restroom and changing room policy ... but Target stood by their position – and therefore the boycott will continue," says Walker Wildmon of AFA.
The family advocacy group has collected 1.2-million petition signatures, and on Wednesday hand-delivered one-million of those signatures at Target headquarters in Minneapolis.

But there is more to the story.
Once Target customers start shopping elsewhere, they are changing their shopping habits.
Thus, simply settling the dispute will not bring in throngs of returnees.
Think back to the baseball strike of 1994. Lots of baseball fans were incensed about the player's greedy disregard of the fans, and never, ever came back.

I didn’t say Target won’t, I said if you want them to it has to hit the bottom line and hit it hard.... until you see their revenues/earnings drop significantly compared to the sector they aren’t going to change.
Creeps must feel welcome, normal people do not matter. That just doesn't seem like an economic solution given the demographics of our society.

Think it is finally time to show these people that Americans can do the right thing. It may seem drastic but I think its time we actually put one of these businesses that are trying to change our society our nation our lives, OUT OF BUSINESS.
If we drop their stock enough they can either get on board and go back to protecting women and children of they can fail.
That's what the Dixie Chicks thought, but in spite of lip service the liberal support never came, and now they're history. Same thing will probably happen here.
Liberals are elitists, they look down their noses at big box discount outlets.

There’s a saying “Shoot, shovel, and shut up.” Target could have done like thousands of other businesses and said nothing but they wanted to make it political,

It’s way past time. They knuckle under the leftists because the left knows how to pressure them. It’s way past time that we learn that lesson and start dishing out the same medicine instead of just taking it.

Maybe it’s a plot by senior management to crash a failing concern, loot what capital is left and then when it’s time to close the doors blame the evil, hateful reactionaries.
They WILL care, as they are losing billions of book value, and the Wall Street predators go for a hostile takeover. LOL
