A group of Dominos Pizza workers in Oregon helped save a mans life over the weekend, police said.
When the employees didnt hear from one of their regular customers for several days, they sent one of their drivers, Tracey Hamblen, to check on him.
According to KATU, the man didnt answer the door, but the lights and television were on.
Thats when Hamblen called 911.
When deputies responded to the mans home, they heard someone calling for help.
They found the man on the ground and in need of medical attention.
Hes now in stable condition.
A manager said the customer, Kirk Alexander, 48, has ordered a pizza almost every day for more than 10 years.
He orders every day, every other day, Dominos manager Sarah Fuller told KOIN. His order pops up on the screen, because he orders online. So, we see it come across the screen, and were like Oh, Kirks order.
In a statement to FOX 12, the sheriffs office said The (Marion County) Sheriffs Office would like to personally thank Mr. Hamblen for his quick actions and willingness to take time out of his day to care for others.
Glad that they helped that poor guy.
I’m gonna guess that his BMI is not “optimal”.
He probably weighs 120 lbs. You never know. I have an almost 90 year old uncle that can out eat me and he has ice cream every day. Never gotten fat.
They saved his Life?
The must have decided not to sell him any more Pizza.
Heck yea, if you’re 20 and expend 6000 calories a day working like a serf! ;-)
I slung ‘Za for them for about 2.5 years, made great money for the 1980’s too, ~12-14 bucks an hour averaged. I delivered more than 5000 and probably made 10X that.
Too much cheese has unpleasant side effects.
The post office had a policy of watching out for elderly customers who are missing from their daily routine. First time I’ve heard of a pizza outfit doing something similar.
Doesn’t this prove that ordering pizza every day is good for you, otherwise he might not have been found in time . . .
Add a small salad once or twice a week and it's fine....
They wouldn’t fall out, they’d harden like bricks with all that sticky dough trying to pass through every day.
It depends on the ingredients. This is a nice story about a situation where there's still real human interaction and concern for a regular customer. May we all be so concerned and pro-active if a situation such as this arises.
LOL!
There is a portly fellow in my company who takes his home football team very seriously. Attends every home game, tailgates like a madman, and takes a vacation day every Monday following a home game.
He has an arrangement with the local pizza shop that his standing pie order be delivered every Monday at 1 pm....
... to his Bedroom Window.
My wife noticed that our neighbor - elderly woman who went to bed very early, and never had the lights on long - still had the lights on at ten PM. We talked it over and she called the neighbors grandson who lived locally.
She had gone to the basement and fallen . . .
Lived out her days in a nursing home, and liked it there.
