I read another vanity post, so please forgive me for cluttering up FR with my own. But I would like to give my two cents on why nothing really matters in this primary.
The root problem is the republicans do nothing to stop the fundamental transformation of the electorate that favors the democratic party. The Dems are aggressively expanding their pool of likely voters. And for the last few decades, up to the present day, the republicans say next to nothing about it.
Now the way things are, how can you change things the way Reagan did? How can you get broad support say for a tax cut when such a large segment not only does not pay, but receives significant benefits from their fellow citizens? Selling them on the idea of liberty and economic growth hasnt been competing well against the opposition's promises of more free stuff.
Young white children are no longer a majority. White middle class women are having 1.6 children per. Now I am only bringing up that to illustrate the America of yesterday is gone. Trump will do nothing to change the equation. He may make the transformation happen more slowly, but that is it. In fact, Trump may stigmatize the Latino vote against the republican party in a way that it is now with Blacks. Im not saying Cruz would do any better. Because what is needed is a viable strategy to change entrenched thoughts and attitudes about the proper role of government and the individual citizen.
In fact, the Democrats are in full control here. Their agenda is what is being advanced in pop culture and in our schools. I don't see a future for conservatism unless there is a paradigm shift in thoughts and attitudes. The momentum for change as I can see it, is all leftward.
Absolutely spot on correct!
If Conservatism is not taught, but rammed, it is dead. What we end up with are clowns carrying the Conservative flag, i.e. Trump and Cruz.
Conservatism is dying I don’t care WHAT happens in Nov. Not much longer and it will be gone unless we are something more than a screaming mob of ideologues.
Nicely said.
Basically. We’re in deep shiite.
Is our primary process fair? Look at the precints in New York.....
District 15
Trump 636 3 delegates won
Cruz 251
Kasich 135
Now go to District 1......
Trump 37,137 3 delegates won
Kasich 8,772
Cruz 4,658
how is it possible that in district 15 .. around one thousand people get 3 delegates.....
....and................. in district 1.....50,000 people get 3 delegates????
The new Republican strategy for 2016 is to choose a Democrat as their nominee.
When things get bad enough they have to turn around. The bad news is it has to get really really bad before most free loaders will quit the freeloading system.
GW Bush expanded the problem by giving more welfare in the tax code. First we need to get rid of the tax code as it is today. Get rid of the IRS.
But to make real reforms we need to go back to states electing senators not the people. I know this is a shock to some but this is why our states are getting creamed by the federal gov’t. The Senators were supposed to watch out for the states but when we started direct election of senators that all went bye bye. Direct Democracy isn’t necessarily a good thing. There’s a reason our founders put in the electoral college and had states choose the senators.
“The Dems are aggressively expanding their pool of likely voters. And for the last few decades, up to the present day, the republicans say next to nothing about it. “
Trump IS expanding the pool of voters who will vote Republican. Just the GOPe, instead of being happy about it, wants to stop it.
GOPe is in bed with the Democrats for a Hillary presidency.
See:
Tech billionaires (major Dem donors) plot with GOP leaders at exclusive island resort to stop Trump
“I don’t see a future for conservatism unless there is a paradigm shift in thoughts and attitudes. The momentum for change as I can see it, is all leftward.”
I agree with most of what you said. We past the point of no return probably when 9/11 happened, maybe sooner.
We’re simply following the model Aristotle where Republics turn into Democracies which then turn into Despotic Tyranny Hell-holes. Immigrants and the parasites our social system supports don’t care about our past or values. They want “stuff” and lots of it. Some might have a change of heart and become American in the old way, but I’m not that optimistic. Today we replace Andrew Jackson with Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill. Tomorrow, Washington with Obama or MLK. Ben Franklin with Cesar Chavez?
A Trump victory may stifle the NWO/OWG plans a few decades, but the end result will be the same.
IMHO, we are literally living in the End Times spoken of in Revelation and Daniel. It will continue to get worse & worse. Matthew 24:7 (Nation rising against Nation, and Kingdom against Kingdom).
Sort of like some states with small populations get fewer representatives in the House than states with large populations, but all only get 2 senators.
Those small population states are why the Founding Fathers came up with the Electoral College. Otherwise, all presidental elections would be determined by the likes of NY City, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc.
Guess where most of the Libs live. That is why they keep wanting to dismantle the EC.
I hate to think you’re right but you may very well be.
Well, we are dealing with forces that go way beyond our own borders. The world paradigm is socialism, it has been that way since World War 2 when Europe went hard left and internationalist quickly in the aftermath and America began a much slower transformation into internationalism and socialism.
We should not curse the age too greatly however...we may be seeing the development of the next world paradigm as we watch America finally succumb where the rest of the west has well before. Islam and Shariah are rising up and are young, populous, aggressive and attractive to eyes that see nothing but rudderless materialism and decay in the west.
And we would probably be very happy with our sick socialist society compared to what is coming.
Kalifornia was nominally a conservative Republican state until Regan left the governors mansion. Now look at it.
..Their agenda is what is being advanced in pop culture and in our schools....
And the USA is paying the price with the new Socialist generation. However, millenials appear to have low voter turnout.
It’s I’ll give you free stuff verses I’ll give you a job. Now vote.
Well, Pat Buchannan pretty much said that about 20 years ago.
Wyrd bid ful ared.
“Well, Pat Buchannan pretty much said that about 20 years ago.”

True, and the response of the GOPe was to virtually expel him from the party. They have thrown out or marginalized those who actually had the important issues figured out, or who failed to bend a knee to the neocons.
Somebody else might have looked at the Republican base of the 1930s and 1940s and seen how it shrank as a share of the population and concluded that Republicans or conservatives had no hope for success.
Reagan, who'd actually been a liberal Democrat back then, understood that Republicans could win over voters who'd been Democrats (or even foreigners) in the old days and win elections.
Granted, all that is easier said than done, but while demographics may be destiny, they don't prevent intelligent action to win over voters who might at one point been on the other side.
Of course, it's also the case that the descendants of a lot of those old Republicans of 70 years ago have gone over to the Democrats. It cuts both ways.
Conservatism is being taught exclusively in the home.
Public schools teach and advance socialism and globalism.
Catholic, Christian, and other private schools may teach conservatism.
We are lucky if schools teach patriotism and factual American history.
We are being outnumbered by birthrate, immigration, and indoctrination.
If conservatism is not expanded, we’ll become like the Amish communities.
Optimistic comments in a thread where I don't read much hope, though I like the fact that the alarm is being raised. Hope is the stuff that has sustained America for more than 200 years, and it can surely be revived with great leadership. Winners always find a way of prevailing even when the odds don't look so good. This is why I think Trump is on the right track and why so many folks are signing on to his vision. He's not bought, so he can influence in ways that a puppet candidate can not. There must also be a role for Free Republic in helping educate the electorate -- or at least the intelligent minority who can motivate people to turn out at elections and make things happen. Very disappointed in our supposed "conservative leaders": Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin have both sold their souls to the globalist agenda and the closet Bushies. So the education must come from elsewhere. And FR can play a big role. Any ideas out there? |
” We past the point of no return probably when 9/11 happened, maybe sooner”.<— yes.
“A Trump victory may stifle the NWO/OWG plans a few decades, but the end result will be the same.” yes <-—
We are way late to the to the party. Trump will be unable to stop it because that would take over decade(s). No new leader is going to be able to fix so much that is broken with our system. But Trump could fix a few of the majors. He can slow the train down and stop it in it’s tracks for a short time. Give us a chance, to reexamine and reevaluate the involuntary course we’re headed towards.
A lot more prayer for the American people and for all of its leaders to make the right decisions is really the only true answer.
