The Iranian Ground Forces revealed new vehicles on 13 April including the Tiam tank, which appears to be a fusion of US and Chinese tanks.
The Tiam's hull is that of a M47M, a variant of the US M47 that uses the engine from the M60A1 tank. The M47M was produced in Iran from the early 1970s and Iran unveiled a modified version called the Sabalan in April 2014. The Sabalan was armed with what looked like a 105 mm L7-type rifled gun instead of the original 90 mm.

Show the pic: It comes with it’s own suicide vest.
Only with this f....t president would countries like this show off bull @#$@#$ hardware.
Post WWII American tanks, with the long turret bustle and large tracks, to this kid, were the epitome of what a tank should look like. But yeah, the reactive armor and scalloped side plates make this one look like dork city.
1) Build long range Nuclear tipped missiles.
2) Increase her defense spending with all kinds of R&D projects.
3) Implement lessons learned in the Syrian Civil War.
4) Fund the Jihad worldwide.
5) Enable Hezbollah to become a huge and powerful Army.
6) Continue to spread their doctrine, ideology and terror all over the planet.
Thank you Mr. President for a destructive and violently dangerous new period in human history, where the Doomsday clock has been moved closer to midnight...
Tank does not look as advanced as German WWII tanks.
The “R&D Projects” are really freaking stupid.
So far we have a twin-tailed F-5, a single seat AH-1, a “stealth fighter” mockup made from cobbled together MiG-17 parts, Hawk SAMs on F-14s and now a hybridized M47/M60 “tank”
All of which look like things created by hillbillies with arc welders, access to surplused, old, military equipment and parts and wayyyyy too much free time.
The 105mm gun would be fairly ineffective against US, NATO, or Russian tanks...the Iranians obviously know this, so they must not have a ground war with the west in mind.
The side skirts look very thin - offering almost zero protection. As a side note, legend has it that the inventor of Chobham armor (the staple of US tanks) initially tried to market it to Iran, with no success.
The mobile AA gun looks more effective. They can shoot and scoot in a hurry...probably even hide them underground near their nuke sites.
Iran will probably start buying nicer toys, now that Barry released a gazillion dollars of assets.
That's funny!
I'd be shocked if those reactive packs were anything more than inert bricks.
They have changed their R & D projects. Now, it consists of getting on a jet, flying to just about any European nation, and placing a large order. This is thanks to Barry’s release of frozen assets.
Is that two blocks of reactive armor on the loader’s hatch?
I noticed the side skirts were scalloped, must have to
change the wheels out with some regularity.
“Is that two blocks of reactive armor on the loaders hatch?”
Sure looks like it...odd.
I never thought about that. Looks like the skirts don’t swing open to allow access.
M24 Chaffee ?
I looked up this tank and found a youtube video:

If it has gun stabilization, they didn’t demonstrate it. And, I don’t see a muzzle reference sensor either.
At the 1:12 mark, the camera flashes to a tank draped in some sort of camouflage. I think this might be the larger Karrar tank (Iran’s version of the T-90). Not sure why they are monkeying around with the Tiam, if they’ve already started the Karrar production.
It’s very tall
I suspect these new Iranian miracle machines will have a life expectancy of about 10 minutes in the desert, what with the lack of maintenance and their tactical vulnerability.
The side skirts look welded
