1. At the primary polling locations in each state, were the voters clearly informed that their vote for their candidate was for the FIRST VOTE AT THE CONVENTION only, and that if their candidate did not get 1237 delegates, their vote would be basically tossed and have no influence?
2. When we are told Cruz had the ground game, left people behind in the states after the primary, worked the rules, worked the system, worked the delegates in the way that everyone has always known it's done in the primaries... Cruz's people convinced Trump delegates to vote for Cruz when they were unbound, like in the second vote, if no one got a majority in the first vote...
What does that mean? No one MENTIONS, exactly HOW do you get this delegate to do what you ask? You TALKED him into it with your powerful skills of persuasion or with the rock solid character of Cruz?
No---what this means is, Cruz's people who stayed behind and CONVERTED Trump delegates to CRUZ delegates BRIBED, ARM-TWISTED, THREATENED or BLACKMAILED these delegates to switch.
THAT is the way its done that Trump was supposedly too dumb to know and to leave behind the operatives in each state AFTER the primary to take care of this "working with the delegates."
Those are pretty much always the rules. State vary on how many votes one is “guaranteed” for, and some vary within their delegate pool. But eventually all delegates wind up unbound. And with good reason, if nobody gets the magic number the first time around, and nobody is allowed to vote different in subsequent votes, then you can’t get a nominee. Eventually you have to let the delegates change their votes. There’s a reason we’re a republic, not a democracy, these delegates are our representatives.
BTW the electoral college runs similarly, if nobody hits the 50%+1 number on the first vote members start being able to change their votes.
Those are the rules. Have been the rules for longer than you’ve been alive. And will probably continue to be the rules long after you’re gone. Because they kind of need to be that way.
Convention fights are for those races in which both candidates are locked together and only a convention battle can decide it.
They are not for those who clearly cannot win the nomination with the majority of the delegates but decide to do what they can to stop the frontrunner from getting that number so they can fight at the convention.
This is ignoring the spirit behind the primary system.
You have no way of knowing how the Cruz people are switching Trump voters. If you have evidence of bribery, take it to the FEC. Bribery is a felony which no one should be accused of without evidence.
I do remember the Ford people complaining about Reagan doing the same thing in 1976. I know that you want to claim the high moral ground but this appears to be nothing more than procedural politics at which Trump has shown himself to be inept to this point. How is Trump going to deal with Putin if he can't handle Cruz? Putin is infinitely more conniving than Cruz.
And in all of those primaries did you ever hear a case where someone who was mathematically eliminated stayed in the race just to force a convention fight?
Yes, exactly. Also, be sure to type the words slowly to your posts on FR so that the Trumpanzees can comprehend them better.
Not even close. When most of the primaries and caucuses were held, the actual delegates had not been selected to fill those spots. What Cruz did was get enough of his supporters to the precinct, county and state conventions in each state to have his supporters selected to be delegates to the national convention, regardless of who the were bound to support on the first ballot. No bribery, blackmail or other chicanery was necessary - these people were already his supporters. This was not a matter of him converting Trump supporters - Trump had no organization in most states to get his supporters selected as delegates.
And if you are not smart enough to know what the rules are for your caucus or primary concerning how many ballots the delegate is bound, maybe you shouldn't be voting in the first place...
gg I have no doubt you and I would get along fine in the real world. I have to tell you though, complaining about how things work and have worked for longer than you have been a live feeds the rather unflattering image of trump supporters being “low information”.
If you are actually upset that you weren’t told please look to your leadership and ask them why in the heck they didn’t tell you.
You Trum folks are, to your credit, a passionate lot. I ask you kindly to become informed, involved in the party, and active. You’ll be welcomed.
Your passion will help move things forward but your lack of knowledge will hold you back.
I think the Republican Party network is a closed system if you are an UN-engaged voter, who just believed that the winner of your state primary simply was the winner, earned delegates and all, as the state and party rules allowed.
Throw in here and there a few delegates for a second place finisher, or other place holders who managed 20 percent of the vote, in some states.
That was suppose to be the casual take, and the end of the story.
NO ONE was prepared for a fraudulent process at the grassroots level.
For that to occur and be a success, you have to see the corruption of ethics and principle goes far deeper than we ever imagined.
To top it off, these perpetrators who give their hands and feet over to the fraud want to call it “God’s work”, or “skillful execution of the process”, or “Silly you, for not knowing how to process the fraud”.
Your lies will be countered every time.
That doesn’t change the fact that they are bound for the first 3 rounds.
No, Cruz stuned their beebers, making them momentarily weak and open to persuasion. He’s sneaky you know.
Cruz supporters have absolutely no morals.

What? A Trumpist insulting Cruzers? Here at FR? Why, that hasn’t happened in - well - seconds.
It’s OK though. Jim Rob is on your side and soon the Cruzers will get the zot.
In the meantime - Trump is so clueless - he doesn’t know the difference between Washington State and Washington DC.

Gasp! You mean elections are not won with the popular vote?!?!?!???!!
WHY ISNT THIS IN BREAKING NEWS?????
WHY do we have elections if the establishment gets to pick the winner???
Representative Republic anyone? Tell me people are just kidding with the stupid, please. Please.
“No-—what this means is, Cruz’s people who stayed behind and CONVERTED Trump delegates to CRUZ delegates BRIBED, ARM-TWISTED, THREATENED or BLACKMAILED these delegates to switch.”
Felonies. Strong talk. Can you prove it?
So. It wasn’t rape-rape.
Whoopi Goldberg approves.
Incorrect. The members of the Electoral College cast their votes in their own state, and then send the results to Congress. Technically, the electors from California have no idea how the electors from Nevada voted. If there is no majority winner once Congress counts the votes from the Electoral College, then the House chooses the President (one vote per state) and the Senate chooses the VP.
His ex-wife says this NEVER happened. You are a bald-faced liar!

See post 29. Now who’s the bald faced liar?
Have they taken a basic government class?
I see this as another failure of our school system that so many people do not understand our form of government.
Do people know anything about previous primary battles?
