Pure vanity for the very best of reasons (less about that later).
What repels gypsies?
What is their cross, their holy water, their sunlight?
I have a friend who needs to ward one off.

If you think gypsies are bad here, go to europe. I would say 90% of the crime there is due to gypsies. Boy are you behind the times.
Number one criminals in Europe are now the muzzles.

I was looking for the actual clip from the original Dracula Movie where the Gypsies cower in fear at the mere mention of the Count’s name, but was unable to find it.

That’s cute, but seriously you are wrong. There are far more roma in europe than refugees. That’s like saying there are more muslims than blacks in the US. Just not true. The refugees are mostly males from 18 to 35, but the roma are all ages, multigenerational, and include both sexes. Plus the roma have learned long ago to blend in to prey on their victims, while the refugees refuse to blend in.

I don’t really appreciate you posting up photos from back when we were an item. Especially where that link takes people.
I look fat in that shot :)

Have you consulted with Cher?
I hear she has experience with gypsies.
As well as with tramps and thieves..

I derive from this that a gypsy would be warded off by a mulim. Is this some sort of cruel double-entendre hoax?
One might check with the local gardening supply store. They usually sell "witches balls' which are those colored globes on pedestal bases that adorn front yards. They ward off witches. There might be a similar item to ward of gypsies. I don't think a plastic pink flamingo would do the trick, because, as has been pointed out, they invented flamenco.

"My late wifes Grandfather was taken by them many years ago."
At first, I took this to mean "taken" as in stolen/kidnapped.

I don’t know about that, but I’m sure that many now hate gypsies, after their horrible experiences with them.

The Irish Travelers are VERY good at conning people; sadly.
I'm so sorry that that happened to your grandfather!

If you find out, would you let Rick Springfield know what it is about him that turns them off?
