Beware the Ides of March, it was said long ago. How true. The entire conservative side is falling into an out-and-out, full-blown political civil war instigated by probably the Democrats and the GOPe to keep control of the channels of power in the country (which equals millions in their pockets). Who in their right mind would respond to an ad showing one's wife in a less-than-honorable photo (all people make mistakes) when one should have just refused to discuss it? AND, all should have simply ignored ANYTHING coming from the National Enquirer as being pure, unadulterated filth, NO, everyone has to jump in and start talking.
Now, instead of focusing on the Godless, lesbian, alcoholic and mentally unstable enemy Hillary whose husband was Philanderer-in-Chief (and the media really didn't care what he did) and who has the support of almost EVERY one of our enemies, the conservatives are in a toe-to-toe fight over he said, she said. Some of you folks need to read about what happened to Atahualpa and Huascar of the Inca empire. We can't be far behind.

I think the establishment attacks on Trump have helped him enormously with those who can’t stand the establishment-a sizable group of people that includes people of all political stripes, not just Republicans.

I live in D.C. "Civility" is a term that Alinskyites use to control those who don't have the stomach for a smear campaign. Point out the log in someone else's eye - you are uncivil.
It is exactly through the fear of discussing and dealing with the unseemly that "they" keep the minions in line in the establishment. Everyone can get all four trotters in the trough so long as they don't count trotters in troughs or point out that the high quality feed is coming from the taxpayers who should get their cut on the deal.
Go read P.M. Forni's book "Choosing Civility." One thing he does not advocate as part of civility is dismissing important subjects as lacking civlity because they are unseemly. A key step in civility is recognizing the legitimacy of issues that are bothering folks, discussing them honestly and resolving the issue.
Instead, in the uniparty, the call for "civility" is used to dismiss the issue without discussion.
And so here we are boiling tar and honing the tongs on our pitchforks.

Ok then, since we are all supposed to be focused on Hillary, and pretend there is no primary going on.
How about we end the primaries. Whomever is in front with delegates now, wins the nomination.
All of the candidates spend the remaining ad budgets until the convention running anti-Hillary ads.

Pehaps walking this back to where it began clears some things up.
Utah
Cruz was always going to win Utah. Trump knew that and basically conceded that fact.
That melania photo was not needed for Cruz to win Utah.
So the question is why?
Perhaps hurting melania was a way to get a Trump rise over using his wife in that way to draw him in to what the Cruz crew knew was going to come out.
The next myth is that Trump “threatened” Heidi Cruz with spilling the beans. The truth is that no beans were spilled and Trump was just warning Ted to cut it out.
The next myth is that trump put up those side by side pics of Heidi and melania. No he didn’t, but he retweeted that pic and he should not have paid attention to it.
Then the story breaks. The fact is #the thing has been out there for months. The Enquirer isn’t the only news outlet that knew about this.
There is no evidence presented or fact that Trump had anything to do with this, but he is being used to blame so that Ted can deflect from his vast alleged indescretions.
The next fact would be that if all of this is a lie, then we should expect Cruz to sue Trump and the Enquirer.
If he fails to do that, we have to assume that there may be truth to some of it.
All remains to be seen.

Agreed 100%. What Trump has given us is a "Hail Mary pass" opportunity to save the nation. Unfortunately, the DC crowd and the not-so-invisible hand that controls them won't risk four years of a "time out" to clean up their act and develop some younger talent with leadership skills and vision.
I never cease to be amazed what a small number of people in leadership roles, from DC right down to local governments is not totally part of the destruction of our nation. Perhaps the best of a bad situation is for it all to come tumbling down while there are still some folks around who have the cultural memory and skills that made the US great, back before the assault on our uniqueness as a nation began.
