Yes, MM and I are Richardians.

Shakespeare did a number on him, in order to gain favor with the Tudors and history just kept repeating the Shakespearian propaganda.

The Starz series on the Woodvilles was excellent. So, for that matter, was the Tudors. Both followed the history fairly well..

Everyone is vastly superior to YOU; you are an uneducated, snotty, knuckle dragging illiterate.

Correct. The Bard painted him as misshapen, bent, and cruel. It is remarkable how Shakespeare's writings are still intertwined with society today..

I was wrong. Her GREAT grandfather was Edward IV. Her grandfather on her father’s side was Henry VII, the first of the Tudor dynasty. Richard III would have been Elizabeth’s great grand-uncle through the line of her grandmother, Elizabeth of York.

No and Elizabeth I was a TUDOR, NOT a Plantaganet...which is what Richard III was.

I'm POSITIVE that she didn't have a crooked spine.

She did, however, have small pox, which is why she painted her face heavily with a lead based foundation, making her visage a ghostly white.

But that was later in life, after suffering from a traumatic head/brain injury sustained when he was unhorsed at a joust.

Yes...Shakespeare has added greatly to our language and though a propagandist of the WORST kind, his nonsense it taken as fact still; sadly.

Absolutely!!! Gloucester was a warrior who almost cut down the usurper on the field of battle. Harry Tudor was a vile politician on the make and would have died at Bosworth like the foul traitor knave he was if Richard had not been betrayed!!!

Yes, he was. The only one like him was William the Bastard. Harald should have won at Senlac.

Now now Miss M you are being mean to our drunken retard clique. Also, confusing them with multisyllable words is just a tad cruel.

Anyhow, this thread is kind of inspiring me to read up on the era which I haven’t done in forty odd years. I wish my father was alive to talk to regarding English medieval topics since he was quite interested in the era.

One of my grandfathers was brother to a Lord Mayor of London during Elizabeth’s reign but I know virtually nothing about him.

I never quite understood the Little Big Horn fight until going there in person and seeing the terrain.

One of my great great grandfathers was an Army First Sargeant-—Infantry——at the time and it would sure be fun to time machine back and converse in person about what the scuttlebutt had to say about the battle.

My dad as a kid saw the old boy’s uniforms, sword, Schofield pistol and other stuff in a trunk in his two maiden great aunts attic when visiting in the 30s. Only thing I saw was a couple of photos of him my grandma had.

Thirty plus years in the Army and the last few years as Arthur MacArthur’s First Sargeant in, I think, “I” Company of the 13th Infantry.

My grandma mentioned a couple of times about her mother—oldest daughter—and the two above sisters playing with little Dougie as a kid. But he was a boy and younger and a bit of a pest. :<}

Cool story thanks for sharing. If you don’t mind, wanna share your views on Custer’s loss? I have an opinion but would be interested in hearing yours.
