Credit: University of Leicester. This model of King Richard IIIs grave shows the kings remains in-situ shortly after their discovery by University of Leicester archaeologists beneath a car park in Leicester in 2012. The model has been generated using Agisofts Photoscan from photographs taken during the excavation. Well, thank you. He was a fascinating and enigmatic figure in history. I think of him especially after muslim attacks because he wanted so badly to defeat them and keep them out of Europe.
Yes, I knew that much about Richard III. But after reading your comments and others on this most interesting thread, I want to learn more. :-)
There are many books on him and some splendid novels. Try Paul Kendall’s early bio which is beautifully written. Avoid Starkey, Jones, some of Baldwin because they are not experts in Yorkist history. Their degrees are in Tudor history. Ross is not a Ricardian but he is a Yorkist historian. Annette Carson is one of the best and I recommend her “Maligned King.”
Thanks!
They were. What I was alluding to was the Tudor's systematic process to eliminate "anything" Plantagenet after seizing power.
