Has anybody done their own model to see if Trump can get the numbers needed? If so, what was your combo?
Here's how I think it might happen: Start with 678. AZ 58, NY 95, PA 71, WI split 21, OR 28, WA 44, WV 34, CA 172 = 1201 leaves him 36 short but, Missouri has more for delegation from Congressional districts won, but he definitely needs at least the bulk of one more state. Any suggestions?
No - he can suggest but the delegate decides.
I cannot imagine Cruz getting California. They are so media savvy and Trump is a superbrand versus Cruz’ lack of charisma and telegenics. Even the Republicans out there are just not that conservative and they are on the front line of the illegal problems.
I got my numbers from 270 to win’s website.
I didn’t count CA one way or the other, my WAG has Trump winning while the polls are still open there, with NJ putting him over the top on June 7.
But now what happens with the 8 state rule?
For instance, if Trump is the only one with 8 states, how do any of the delegates pledged to a different candidate vote for someone who is not nominated?
Do they abstain on the first ballot? What constitutes winning the first ballot? If delegates for all other candidates either don't vote or abstain, Trump gets 100% of the votes cast. Does he still need 1237?
Discovering that Wikipedia has errors is like discovering that colanders have holes.
Been there, done that - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3410261/posts
thats my understanding they can’t vote if not entered into nomination - stupid rule if you ask me. vote and be done with it.
Trump is at 696
I said last week between 1300 and 1400 and closer to 1400 and people said I was nuts
I did the math 10 ways to China
It’s just how it is baring an implosion of trump support
Very few posters bother to run numbers
ESPECIALLY CRUZ BOTS
Having Cruz play spoiler will not bode well for the process - he needs to decide if he’s for winning the WH and keeping Hillary out of it, or if he’s for Ted Cruz and F-— the WH as long as he keeps Trump out of it......
Experts, welcome to The Smoky Back Room page. Your theories of how this happens are welcome.
>> I cannot imagine Cruz getting California <<
California will be, in effect, 54 separate elections, with 53 districts selecting three delegates each, plus 13 delegates selected statewide.
Because the process will be so complex, I gotta think that any generalization about “can” or “cannot” is probably not gonna be valid. Cruz will win some delegates, Trump will win some, and Kasich might ever pick up a few.
But what will the percentages look like? I don’t believe anybody can reasonably predict. We’ll just need to be patient and wait until the Wednesday after the vote. At that late date, with any luck, we should know approximately who won how much.
Well..
I’m no expert. I’m just some dumbass street kid from North Philly that wants his country back...
Whatever he needs to do to get there, he should do it.
Enough Lib Kasich delegates prefer Trump to a real conservative like Cruz. Or if they don’t “persuades” enough them of, perhaps by threatening riots.
Since Rubio dropped out... How are the Minnesota Delegates devided?
That should have read divided.
“Im no expert. Im just some dumbass street kid from North Philly that wants his country back...”
Like 10’s of millions of us in different locations..
Apparently the RNC and GOPe, one in the same, think we’ll all just accept whichever POS they decide to run? I think not if we have to organize a write in campaign for Trump or Trump goes 3rd Party. We’re fed up and they’re too arrogant and dumb to realize their tyranny is history.
Apparently, the political Elites think We The People will just do as we’re told by the Dictators running the GOP. I think not, what do you think?
Trump said in his Press conference that if he went Third Party it would guarantee Hillary a win, or anyone else that did third party...
So no, we will fight the GOPe, RNC and the RINO base like McCain, Cruz, and the rest...
