Feel sorry that the shooter has such CRAPPY relatives. If it were me doing the shooting, my relatives would have NO PROBLEM with it.
You cannot have this type of thinking become widespread in a civilization that intends to exist in the very near future.
It is a culture that should be confined to a Petri dish and then lost.

Something about him needing money for clothes for school and stuff. Only way he could get the money is to burgle homes for it. If there was some sort of, you know, part time job? Do they have those things?
Where’s the outrage that he broke into and intended on stealing from someone?

I saw the movie “Posse” today starring Bruce Dern and Kirk Douglas. (excellent movie BTW). At one point Douglas, who is running for US Senate from Texas gives a stump speech right after he comes in with the notorious train robber Dern. The first half of that speech was spot on and made me remember this case. It is a brilliant refutation of the nonsense this family is spouting. While supposedly the 1880’s the movie was actually made in the 1970’s. It is not that long ago, folks. Many living know the truth and just need to be reminded of it. Someone should make a Youtube short of that scene and pass it around. I don’t know how.
However, my firearm training is that while I may have a legal right to use deadly force to protect property, I am in a much stronger (criminal & CIVIL) court defensive position if I only use deadly force when I feel that my life (or that of someone else) is in danger or I fear serious physical harm.
Because of that training, I would not have shot the young punk as he was trying to escape. Carrying a firearm is a huge responsibility (yes I have concealed carry licenses issued by two States under two separate sets of rules. And yes I have talked to attorneys and some judges at the gun range I belong to about the use of deadly force.)
While the lady may have been within her legal rights I am sure that there is an attorney who would love to file a civil court action against her in the hopes of scoring some big bucks.
