If you grew up in the 1960s or 1970s, then you know how relaxed everything used to be. Our parents never forced us to wear seatbelts, we pretty much at whatever we wanted, and were given way more responsibiity than we should have been given. It's a little sad kids today won't get to experience half the things we did, but looking back, there's a good reason why they won't.
Were these 12 things we did as kids kind of dangerous? Yeah, maybe some of it was.

My brother and I took apart .32 rimfire cartridges using a pair of sidecutters to trim the 'rim' off. After we set one off we didn't do that anymore.
It is the same with running behind the DDT spraying truck-most of us did that, too-apparently with no ill effects, but now we are told it is banned because it nearly wiped out all life on the planet...
And don’t forget soap and other toiletries containing hexacloraphine-we used it when I was a kid, and it was still in stores when my cub was a baby-I bathed her with it and there were no ill effects...
That sounds like fun...We would stand in a circle...5-6 of us and all light those little bottle rockets at the same time then flip them up in the air...If you moved from where you stood, you were “chicken”....
The hex stuff was the only thing that cleaned up my complexion (Phi-so-hex).
When they too it off the market in the early 70s I was sad....and pimply....
wehe wer ‘t to smarts, was we.
Nope...Not really...But we sure had fun...LOL
Phisohex went off the market when she was still a baby, so I was worried about using “regular” soap to get her really clean-now, I’d probably be charged with abuse for bathing the child in poison...
Yes, and this is exactly what the islamic muslims want to see happen in all of the European and Scandanavian cities....and, here in our USA. ( eventually, leading to islamic muslims determining all of the winners in all of our elections down the road )---and unfortunately, there is no rebutal to this.)
The muslims are out-producing -everyone, everywhere- eight to one!!

President Buckwheat, ship your muslim pals....some place else!
Playing tackle football at school on the asphalt. No pads, no helmet..
Did I ever tell you we played football w/o a helmet.
Read more about Stripe, pHisoHex, the "effects of exposure" and other related stuff here.
Did that, lol.
I would add two things:
1. Climbing trees.
2. The article lists summer. For many of us, even more dangerous than summer was summer camp. It's mind-boggling that almost everyone survived being in a cabin in the woods with college-kids in charge.
Did you ever use black powder to get rid of red ant nests the fun way? On a ranch, you use a lot of ammo-especially in hunting season-the male family members loaded our ammo, and there was always a couple cans of black powder in the shed with the other loading equipment.
We would pour some into an empty can, go to an active ant nest, pour a good amount into the hole, then walk away while pouring a little trail from the nest till you get a good distance away-relatively speaking-light the trail with a match or lighter, then we’d take cover and wait-a muffled boom, the ground heaved and shook a bit, as dirt and ants exploded way up into the air-we howled with glee, then went off to find more ant nests to blow up. Gasoline works for that, too-but the black powder produces a more spectacular result...
We had Stripe at home sometimes when I was a kid-and except for wisdom teeth-and a bridge and crown I have because of a skateboard crash, my teeth are intact...
LOL...Never played football (tackle) on pavement, but we did get together in the recreation hall next to our school and play what we called “Tennessee basketball”...The only foul was dribbling...
We all did stupid things, but that’s how you learn.
I one jumped from a tree fort 20 feet high out to a branch, the branch snapped and I fell to the ground landing on my neck and right shoulder, fortunately didn’t do any serious damage. To this day my brother reminds me I should be dead or paralyzed.
Once my 10 speed front tire got caught in railroad tracks as I was riding as fast as I could and down I went on my head, no helmet of course.
Once I raced a guy down a steep gravel quarry, got a broken arm.
Lots more misadventures, as I am sure most had, but no way would I trade times with today’s kids.
Oh no-your grandfather would be arrested for that today! But that bit of beer, wine or whiskey was the way they calmed kids down when they were in pain, hysterical and fighting the treatment of injuries because the alcohol or other disinfectant burned, or the removal of a foreign object hurt. My aunt who lived on the ranch was a nurse, so there was no reason to drive the 30 miles to town for one of us kids to be stitched, as long as the injury was not life threatening-just give them some of the aforementioned adult beverage, inject some novocaine, and it was all done in no time...
This could explain why the Muslims invading European countries are so involved with raping the citizens. It’s another way to procreate and bring their demon seed into existence.
