Emptying the gun powder from dads shotgun shells for other purposes was fun. Setting fire to mothballs in the basement was a real disaster. My brother and I took apart .32 rimfire cartridges using a pair of sidecutters to trim the 'rim' off. After we set one off we didn't do that anymore.

At about 8 I held a .45 over the gas range burner with a pair of pliers. Somewhere in the pantry a slug is in the wall. I didn’t do that again either.
