One old and good rule was that we did not carry an argument from one thread to another but that is what is happening. If you had your say on a topic in a previous thread consider whether its necessary to keep repeating the same thing again and again especially when its against another.

The Threads about maintaining the protections of age of consent laws are far more heated, and always get pulled.

Cruz versus Trump is a two little girls having a tea party by comparison.

JMHO...when the paid provocateurs for campaigns are no longer posting, we’ll get back to our normal level of spirited discourse.

For pure vitriol, the Terri Schiavo threads were hard to beat. This is much more widespread though.

I blame it all on those darned “mister asterisk” Duncan Hunter supporters in 2008.

There are those here that treat this forum like an endless roadmap and cityscape from which to spew ninez as they low-ride past their enemy each morning in their 65 Chevy. Slow riding and deliberate, then BAM! spray a few, then off down the street to circle around and do it again.

As much as we go back and forth, I can easily go to a topic about something non-primary related and post to the same people like nothing ever happened.

I’m 100% for Trump, but respect Cruz. I just believe Trump will do things so different, he’s worth trying out. We need a real genuine change to save our nation.

We ought to at least be farsighted enough to recognize the implications for the future of what we are about to post, and then temper it, if it would hurt our chances in the general election.
A critique (or my response to it) need not be dripping with vitriol or stinging words.

I’ve been thinking about this very thing for a couple of months. I have refrained from posting. I will not vilify any candidate.

But yes, I fear this whole thing could tear FR apart.

Short answer no. The Cruz haters will leave eventually.Just like the Muslim invasion of Europe. FR is still FR. Donate and let’s keep it going.

I don’t know what to call this divide. I’m not sold on either one but Hil and Bern are out of the question. I’ll take solace in that.

Great post. Many of us feel the same way. It’s more painful to watch Freepers get played against each other by establishment and leftist trolls than it is to see Cruz and Trump fall for the same nonsense.

I read but don’t post on the counterposing political threads because I found them to be 95% intestinal gas. I think you’re right in that the insanity has caused a rift but after the election the losing side will slink off or be battered to death by the “winning” side and succumb to the ban-hammer.

Throughout all of this FreeRepublic loses.

This is much worse and much deeper than any election before. It’s very bad and there are around fifty Freepers that, on both sides, that are completely at war with fellow Freepers.

Trumpers want Cruz supporters to just roll over because of “POLLLLLS” and his supposed invincibility.

This is what will happen: Trump may “win” but his margins get lower and lower and the delegates get almost evenly distributed. When the winner-takes-all States come along, Trump’s supposed invincibility will have worn thin and conservatives will have to decide whether to support the fraud or to support the true conservative still in the race and still viable.

With Cruz, there is no compromise. Trump comes with uncertainty and is openly for Planned Parenthood and Universal Healthcare.
