When did Free Republic posters turn on Ted Cruz?

I've come to this site every day since Ted Cruz became a national political figure. Perhaps I'm just getting old with a failing memory but I can't recall any derogatory posts about Cruz until Donald Trump began his ad hominem attacks on him. I don't remember Freepers attacking him as he built a record in the senate.

Can someone direct me to the threads and posts by the Freepers who now hate Cruz that were made prior to September of last year?

I haven’t but I’ve gotten used to conservatives abandoning their principles in every election.

For instance, where were the Trump fans when Duncan Hunter ran on virtually the same platform as Trump in 08. They were chasing a superstar just like they are now.

Lets hope my prediction is wrong this time but I wasn’t wrong the last couple of elections.

To answer your question, I didn’t turn on Cruz. What was annoying is seeing the Cruz supporters swooping in with their bitter bile and unfortunate language going after any who supported someone other than their candidate. Initially, that made it necessary to understand how this man could attract supporters of such caliber. After the confrontations here, and other information which came to light regarding his methods on the campaign trail (which by the way, might not even be legal due to his doubtful eligibility) Being a ‘newbie’ here the intense anger and daggers were rather intimidating. If the line has been crossed, personally -I stand corrected. You asked; I replied.

I agree with you. I feel that there is something funny going on. Someday we may find out -- way too late.

Which of these two do I trust? Would want to have as a fellow member in my assembly? would trust my 20-year-old granddaughter as his campaign assistant? would want him as an advisor in court manners? etc.?

I can only chalk it up to “anger” at DC, which is why Cruz was elected to the senate in the first place, among other reasons, most notably, his record as TX SG.
I guess we are being “out-angered “.

That is a powerful message by Ted Cruz, one that should resonate to all God Fearing voters, and I hope it is aired repeatedly in SC before tomorrow.

The way Ted can articulate his message without hesitation and stay on point is remarkable. It would have been great if Trump would have taken Cruz up on that one on one debate/discussion. But, I suspect we both know why he can't.

It’s not just a “Trump mantra” that Ted Cruz lies. You aren’t reading the thread. There are thousands of words describing people’s reactions to the Cruz campaign that have nothing to do with Trump. That pre-date Trump commenting on them.

If Donald Trump weren’t even in this race, and Cruz had still hired Jeff Roe and played things this way, there would be many people saying the same things they are now.

Just because Cruz has a lot of people in Congress who don’t like him, doesn’t make him an honest person. I really wish that Cruz people would realize that. He can irritate all of his colleagues and still be one of them who they just all don’t like.

I don’t say Ted Cruz is a liar who treats voters like gullible commodities because of anything Donald Trump did, or because I favor some other candidate, or I love the GOPe, or anything like that.

I say those things about Ted because I have two eyes, and at some point, I can’t deny the obvious.

CRuz supporters, however did not reciprocate. Day in and day out they posted hit pieces on Trump. But they didn’t stop there. They insulted us all day long too, saying we were fools, and dumb, and uneducated. It was relentless.
