This election year is very historic
The country is feeling dysphoric
So many dumbed down voters
And socialist promoters
Lets hope the electorate isn’t hysteric

There was an street preacher who every day would climb on his soap box and denounce the evils in the community and urge repentance.

One day a young man asked him "Sir, you have been preaching the same message for decades and the city is still full of evil. Why do you continue to preach?"

The old preacher explained, "The first decade I preached in the hopes of changing the city. The second decade I preached in the hopes of changing some people in the city. Now I preach to keep them from changing me."

That reminds me of a political cartoon from 1980. Jimmy Carter with his big grin in each panel.....he’s saying,

“Hi, I’m Jimmy Carter and I need your help. A very special kind of help. You see, for the past four years, I’ve had this coat hanger stuck in my mouth.”

A young monk arrives at the monastery. He is assigned to helping the other monks in copying the old canons and laws of the church, by hand.

He notices, however, that all of the monks are copying from copies, not from the original manuscript.
So, the new monk goes to the Old Abbot to question this, pointing out that if someone made even a small error in the first copy, it would never be picked up!

In fact, that error would be continued in all of the subsequent copies.

he head monk, says, “We have been copying from the copies for centuries, but you make a good point, my son.”

He goes down into the dark caves
underneath the monastery where the original manuscripts are held as archives,
in a locked vault that hasn’t been opened for hundreds of years. Hours go by and nobody sees the Old Abbot.

So, the young monk gets worried and goes down to look for him. He sees him banging his head against the wall and wailing.

“We missed the R! We missed the R!

We missed the bloody R!”

His forehead is all bloody and bruised and he is crying uncontrollably.

The young monk asks the old Abbot, “What’s wrong, father?”

With a choking voice, the old Abbot replies,

“The word was ....

CELEBRATE!”

Those politicians always do pander
It’s rare for one to have candor
Their past is essential
For their full potential
To qualify for high commander

I'm preparing a powerpoint to have behind me while I try to recruit young civil engineers. Most of it is boring stuff. I hope these help break up the tediousness.
