Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump bashed the tech company Apple today for refusing to help investigators access the iPhone of a San Bernardino attacker.
"I agree 100 percent with the courts," he said on "Fox and Friends" this morning. "In that case, we should open it up."
"To think that Apple won't allow us to get into her cell phone -- who do they think they are?" Trump said. "No, we have to open it up."

On that phone could be the names of other terrorist in Southern California, for all we know they may have plans to kill school children or poison LA’s water supply, but lets not order a company to hack that phone. That’s crazy, lunatic fringe, insanity.
No. Apple is siding with terrorists.
Who cares who is here still ready to commit crimes etc.
The people need to realize that unless they are willing to stand up and drive out the invaders, then it won’t matter who is where.
How many attacks need to happen before it is called a war?
How many more lives need to be lost before people do what is needed?
Anything else is just time wasted.
So you give a backdoor to iPhones, terrorists will just find other means to communicate. All that’s lost is our freedom, and we are just as insecure as ever.
Yep and the judge needs to bring into the court room the Apple executives and ask them to either play rock, scissors, paper or flip coins to see who goes to jail, immediately.
Trump doesn’t even understand that Apple can’t help the government hack into that phone even if they wanted to. So much for the “smartest man in the room”, LOL!
Because Apple has no more capability to do that than the FBI. According to the letter Apple released, the FBI has essentially asked Apple to create a new version of iOS that includes a backdoor, install that new version on the cell phone, and then recover the data.
The problem, of course, is that once Apple does that, the FBI would know that the iOS backdoor exists. What do you think would happen the next time the FBI wanted data from an encrypted iphone?
Also, once Apple creates the software, there is always a risk that the code will get out into the wild, giving any hacker who wants it access to any encrypted iphone.
Thanks, that makes sense.
“Donald Trump bashed the tech company Apple today for refusing to help investigators access the iPhone of a San Bernardino attacker.”
Fail.
You proposed temporarily banning mohammedans from entry, Mr. Trump, which I would disagree with to the extent of amending that proposal to a permanent ban. A suicidal immigration policy that insists on spying on citizens as the only means to keep us safe, rather than keeping the throat cutters who are causing the terrorist risk out of the country, is a nonstarter.
With a Court order, Yes.
Your privacy will be invaded also.
So the FBI wants a custom firmware load that will allow:
Any number of password attempts. No "10 wrong and you're done" auto-wipe.
Any means of entering them. No "must key them on the screen."
This then means the FBI can attempt to "brute force" the password using a computer over the USB interface and, they demanded, any other means such as Wifi, cellular or Bluetooth!
The latter would mean that for the future they would not even have to physically posses the device. That's right -- they could hack it any time they wanted, from anywhere, at any time.
FWIW, that is his explanation of the scope of the request. If it's true, the request seems prospectively broad.
“Sure we would never use backdoor access without a warrant....You can trust us.”
The FBI surely has a warrant and are asking for assistance from the manufacturer. How is this different than any other criminal case?
Very disappointed in Trump here. Looks like I’m shifting to Cruz.
Exactly. It seems the Trumpies around here aren’t any sharper than their candidate on this question. The FBI and NSA can’t “hack” the encryption and neither can Apple. Either Donald knows that, which means he’s just grandstanding, or he doesn’t know that, which means he’s just going off half-cocked, as usual.
Apple is more worried about international sales than they are about our national security. Sad commentary on how low we have fallen as a nation. It exposes how little allegiance these global corporations have to a particular country even one where they have their headquarters. No wonder these globalists could care less about the American worker. They move jobs abroad and import foreign workers to be trained by the very Americans whom they will replace.
Right! if it was your kid it might help, you’d say no, don’t do it, the law is more important.
I think since the owner of the phone is dead and we could get some information such as possible other people involved. I am supporting this. We are not talking about little 17 year old Stacy who was texting her boyfriend back and forth. This is serious business and if we can possibly stop another terror attack don’t you think this phone of a dead person might be ok?
