You’re not old until you’re older than color TV.

I remember 40, a long while back

I'm retired now. But knew I was really aging when in my last decade of work, one day I noticed some new people on the work floor who appeared to be grade school students. I thought to myself "why are they hiring young teens?"

I later discovered these "young teens" were in their thirties. Boy, did I ever feel old then.

Old at 40? Man, I was just getting started at 40 (no kidding). Don’t sweat it. 40 is not old.

Drive-in movies were near the top of my favorite activities when I was a kid. In those days (the fifties) they showed first run movies like "Bridge On The River Kwai." We were six kids and the parents, so at a buck a car, it was pretty cheap entertainment on Saturday night for our family. But we never bought treats at the concession building.

The only problem was my father usually wanted to leave after the first movie. We almost always left after the first show. Drat.

Hopefully, at age 52, you’ll have the same epiphany that I had this year; we’re ALL just children, really... Some of us just less bright, fun, and playful than others.

I had a tougher time turning 30. So far my 40’s have been better than my 20’s-30’s!
