Most on here know by now I am supporting Marco Rubio for the Republican nominee.
In the process I am finding some rather remarkable talking points that are completely useless.
1. Voting for anyone other than Trump or Cruz will cause a permanent democratic majority. This is nonsense and anyone that has participated in this process knows it. 2. Some how Cruz can over come his 'likability' issue in the U.S. Senate and even in his home state (I am a Texan) 3. That Donald Trump really is a conservative. Nonsense. He is totally unpredictable. And really could implode in a General Election Has unfavorably ratings higher than Clinton. 4. Not voting is a valid position to take if Trump or Cruz are not the nominee. That somehow it will show them a lesson or will in the long run help the conservative movement. Hello President Obama. 5. That millions of evangelical Christians and far right conservatives will raise up to support Ted Cruz. I hope I a wrong about this, but it is nonsense in my opinion. Many evangelicals don't vote because of their world view, they just don't think it matters and the earth's days are number anyway. Far right conservatives that 'really' don't vote are not that many. I know there are plenty on this site, but that really is not that many. 6. The immigration issue will hurt us in the General Election. Only if we take such a hard line as Trump that we lose the entire Hispanic vote.
You are kind of know-it-all for only being on FR 3 months.
Not a Rubio guy, but - to the best of my knowledge, Rubio is the only candidate to emphasize the fact that Obama (with the complicity of the compromised RINOs in Congress and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court) has been wildly successful in “transforming America”, which is what he told us he would do.
As I’ve told some friends, “One would have to believe that either Obama is a total fool or that his policies are having the outcome he intends. I don’t think he’s a fool.”
To prove your point.
Actually, I just looked at the last five polls and Cruz leads Rubio by 5 to 7 points in every one, although Trump leads all the others going back to August.
Good point!
Sorry if I come across as a know it all. I do know some things though. And I don’t get the connection of only commenting on this site for 3 months and what I know. That seems strange to me.
Yes.
A lot of people are calling other people names without any provocation at all, but just because folks express a sincere opinion or preference.
This election will be over eventually; but people who have had names thrown at them will remember it, take the measure of the offenders, and have no interest in engaging them anymore.
How much fun can you have on a forum, when a whole lot of people have decided that you’re an unpleasant person that they want nothing to do with?

Sorry. I have a busted mouse.

Well, can’t be more than about seven weeks old.
Interesting.
Maybe it’s just my perception but the Trump people seem to be the worst at gratuitous insults and name calling.
There are a couple maybe a few here that I would never want to have anything further to do with but they probably feel the same about me.
I am sincerely trying to voice my opinions without insults and, if I insult The Don, I am not insulting you if you love him.
That’s good news.
I think Cruz’ numbers will continue to go up because Cruz is all positives ..no negatives except made=up ones.
Obviously I was born yesterday. Really?
The latest poll:
http://floridapolitics.com/archives/201026-marco-rubio-in-second-place-in-new-florida-poll
Trump: 27
Rubio: 20
Cruz: 12.
ok so it was stupid to say that, I get it. LOL
Oh, comes around evey four years or so.
I think the insults have been going pretty evenly on both sides, though I have no idea ‘who started it’.
I’m not very acquainted with you and your posts, and wasn’t referring to you; I had no one specific in mind. But there has been a lot of gratuitous and personal name calling - not just criticism of candidates, but personal insults to Freepers, and frequently absolutely unprovoked.
I don’t know why people get a kick out of doing that. It seems unbalanced to me. But it is definitely productive of nothing at all but hurt feelings and alienation.

Fair enough. That one didn’t show up in my search, but all the others, going back to June, did. Seems like an unusually large swing in such a short period of time, but we’ll see how they come out between now and the primary.
Cheers!

Okay, I will not be insulted by the following statements you made within the past 24 hours. It’s hard to tell, it appears that you are insulting me but you say not.
1.(and his followers would probably say the puppy had it coming)
2.It was a pretty sickening display of either what people are really like here or what they have become since becoming Trump-zombies.
3.Any values they might have had have been dissolved by that Trump special sauce.
4.It’s sad that Trump devotees are willing to sacrifice their values for The Donald.
5.Either his supporters love him too much to care or they like it, or they pretend to like it.
6.The Trump people are so obsessed with Trump and they are scared spitless that Cruz will beat him.
