Superstar NFL quarterback Cam Newton is black, and even though many people loudly insist that shouldnât matter, it is precisely those people who are always making a preposterously huge deal of it.
Chief among these offenders is Mr. Newton himself, who last Wednesday told reporters at a press conference that the reason he sometimes faces criticism is not because heâs a high-profile sports star and all of them sometimes face criticismâno, it is clearly his status as a Negroidal American that inspires the negative comments:
Iâm an African-American quarterback that may scare a lot of people because they havenât seen nothing that they can compare me to.
In truth, Iâve seen thousands of people I can compare him toânamely, African Americans who deflect any possible criticism by blaming it on racism. Iâve seen this for two generations and counting.
The following day, ESPN Radio host Bomani Jonesâa black man who approaches black issues from a black perspective in the blackest way he knowsâsaid that Cam Newton makes many white Americans uncomfortable because he is not a shuffling and compliant goody-two-shoes black man but rather an unapologetically âblackety-blackâ man. Jones opined that there has been a âhistorical lineage that indicates a lot has been done to keep black people from playing quarterbackâ and that the âsimple realityâ is that our wicked nation âdoes not like black people very much.â
USA Today published an article on Newtonâs blackety-blackness that featured a quote by Doug Williams, the former Washington Redskins quarterback who in 1988 became the first black quarterback to win a Super Bowl. Williams constructs a self-contained logical Guilt Loop wherein anyone who dares to criticize Newton is in denial of their racist motivations:

No, it’s because he acted like a spoiled brat.
Manning’s a racist. He should have let Cam win as reparations for all the horrible things his ancestors did to the slaves . . . he owes him!

100% wrong. Most of us got over that years ago. It is only those who want to keep this matter alive for some reason that it is ever mentioned.
Tiger’s body evolved to the Barry Bonds look.
Of all the doctors to help him rehab from the many injuries, he chose a Canadian with a history of PEDs including being caught smuggling PEDs into the US.
After his last major, the PGA enacted testing for PEDs - Tiger has never won another major.
Now you’re seeing the obvious premature breakdown of his body without the steroids.
Definite attitude adjustment needed! Hopefully there is a coach that can reach him.
He’s not very intelligent.
Sorry, but that don’t fly.
When I was growing up, Ahamad Rashad was the most gregarious of the “don’t hit me” guys.
Robert Earle was a Hall-of Fame ^pussy^.
He seems unable to handle pressure and any criticism whatsoever.
Please. He’s a moron.
lol...case closed! I agree.
Thanks for posting that gif.
I’m telling you. The guy is retarded. He has the emotional development of a six year old.
:)
How about Payton Manning after losing what most thought was his last chance at another championship after getting routed by Seattle? There are a lot of similarities, Denver that year was a record breaking offence that ran into an immovable Seattle defense. Did Payton have a tantrum? Maybe when he got home, but in public he was a gracious loser.
Well, I really meant the whole team. Manning’s performance was good, but if Newton had the same protection, I think the game would have turned out differently. It really was about Denver having the best DEFENSE, not OFFENSE.
I know, and totally agree. My comment was referring to Newton's insistence that HE was the only star on the Panther's Team, and that he was going to kick every other QB's behind because as an African-American he was somehow superior.
His biggest problem is that he has shreck ears.
My son sent me that this morning.
He called it Cam Newton’s “O Noes, de Denvers gone be winnin dis mofo!” moment.
And he's making a pretty nice living outside of football.
Offense for show, Defense for dough.
