[Fair disclosure: Cruz is my first choice, Trump second, and Carson third.]
I like Candidate Rubio, and I almost always agree with what he says. The problem is that the real Rubio, the one who takes office, immediately turns his back on Candidate Rubio’s promises and does whatever the insiders want. That’s where the big campaign donations come from, and Rubio is good at collecting those from the establishment.
Please keep in mind that Trump and Cruz are each good enough to get support from about half of FR. That’s a very high standard, and it should mean something. Don’t let the Trump/Cruz fuss give the election to Rubio; that would be like Ireland’s Catholics and Protestants squabbling until Muslims take over their country!
I don't want Jeb, Christie, and Kasich to get out. I want all three to stay, to split the RINO vote until the Cruz/Trump/Carson battle is over.
In other words, after NH in a week, SC and then NV two weeks later, we have eleven states on March 1.
I expect Trump to win NH, and Cruz to win SC (or fade away if he can’t!), and NV to depend on the other two states and on which candidates stay that long, but with a Trump advantage. Going into March 1, it will be one establishment pick (probably Rubio), against one anti-establishment pick (either Cruz or Trump), with an extra candidate hanging on. Considering how terrible Rubio would be, I hope FR will unit behind the anti-establishment leader.
lol! After tonight, we're definitely not in Iowa anymore. (With all due respect to Kansas)
I'm unconvinced that Cruz can get anything done, especially dismantling the federal beast.
Now if you look at Trump, a quarter of government workers have expressed their intention to leave their jobs if America makes Trump our president.
Now that's what burning it all down looks like.
#MicrosoftRubioFraud is trending on Twitter...Rubio was down by 12 points in most polls prior to Monday...closes to within 2 points on caucus night....hummmm, makes you wonder.
I've never been 100% against Rubio just BECAUSE of that
My allegience to Trump is my desire to see some bloody noses on the floors of the House and Senate and to see someone actually fired for failing
We are in desperate need of a shake-up and cleaning of our political class and I want to believe Trump is the President that not only can .... but WILL do it.
Every other candidate (IMO) will be a politician
If I didn't like my tagline so much .....
:-)
But he is THE BEST pure candidate (bought by the amnesty lobby, so not best in the way we think), which makes him dangerous.
I agree about Trump, the prime reason I switched my preference from Cruz to him is his ability to form the narrative, stay tough, and beat the MSM.
I think we need someone who has those abilities, plus the two big issues of the wall, and stopping muzzie immigration are the most important. Period.
Consider the hundreds of thousands (maybe millions?) of 'teachers' that stand in front of pre-school to say, 5th grade ... that are lefty/muzzie influenced and never speak a patriotic WORD about the USA
THAT'S our problem to a greater extent
And remember too .... those 'teachers' are standing in fron of kids born to the graduates of not too many years ago .... some were ardent obama supporters from 8 years ago
No wall nor political plan will defeat THAT
Trump will win NH it’s a NE liberal state with NY values The real contest is SC We will see.....
Who wouldn't take a day off from work and get drunk if President (whoever) announced,
"Friday will be the last day for 25% of all government workers. We will NOT HAVE TO PAY X millions of dollars in wages and benefits next week .... Thank you"
I think Trump is our last chance because no one else comes close to being able to do what is needed to rescue this country from swirling down the drain. Rubio - good grief - he is a Bush crony and protege for goodness sakes.
How did Jebbie get one delegate ???
he wont leave now
A strange beast, this Iowa caucus thing. I hadn’t paid much attention to Iowa other than the results since Reagan. The last few weeks have been exhausting trying to keep up with the ups and downs. I would also say, that if I were unable to vote in my primary election because I couldn’t park within a reasonable distance, or because my precinct “ran out of materials”, I would be seriously upset. Iowans, not so much. Go figure.
My initial reaction is a hand over mouth awe at the Republican establishment. That doesn’t mean that I admire them but rather am amazed at their under the counter game.
Of course, I congratulate Ted Cruz. I’m an eternal optimist. If he continues to do well and wins, I will dutifully fill in the box for “straight Republican ticket”. Then I will wait for the miraculous “Day One” transformation of America that’s supposed to happen if Cruz wins.
Meanwhile, I will continue to put my full support and efforts behind the only man that I know can make any real change in this nation and that’s Trump. I want what Trump promises, a wall, less fear of foreign and hostile enemies on my very doorstep, a better economy and jobs for my children and grandchildren. I’d also hope for a return to unashamed patriotism, American flag waving and American pride in general because I’d like to see that once again before I die. It’s been missing for a long, long time.
The federal government as we know it really does needs to be burned down. Several of the Republican candidates say all the right things - I wish I could believe that things would really change - with Trump I can hope, but I know even he could betray me once in office and leave everything intact.
I just reread the Declaration of Independence. One can simply replace all references to King George with references to the Federal Government, and all the listed grievances and remedies of the colonies (the states) apply today almost perfectly. Here are a few of my favorite lines:”
“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them (rights) under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security. Such has been the patient sufferance of these colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of government.”
“He has excited domestic insurrection among us, and has endeavored to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers the merciless Indian savages, whose known rule of warfare is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes, and conditions.”
“..suspending our own legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever”.
“He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution and unacknowledged by our laws, giving his assent to their acts of pretended legislation”
The above sounds a lot like Obama, but I think it’s import not to think of Obama or any specific president as the problem, because a more conservative president (like Cruz) will accomplish nothing if the over reaching federal government is left intact.
“#MicrosoftRubioFraud is trending on Twitter...Rubio was down by 12 points in most polls prior to Monday...closes to within 2 points on caucus night....hummmm, makes you wonder.”
Yes indeed! It makes me wonder why more people aren’t wondering. It’s pretty unexplainable in any logical way. I don’t do Twitter or Facebook so I won’t be able to follow this on there.
Check out all of the threads on Cruz supporters telling caucus goers that Carson dropped out so don’t waste their vote and caucus for Cruz. Read some things about Cruz precincts giving incorrect info about Trump in their speeches.
Would those tricks have cost Cruz the win - probably not; however, I think it may have meant that Trump would have lost by a lot less than 6,233 votes. Besides, Trump only gets 1 less delegate than Cruz (6 v.s. 7).
I think the one we all need to be worried about now is Rubio.
Can you list TWO accomplishments of Rafael Cruz?
Any conservative laws passed?
Ran anything in private sector which survives by not losing money?
Any jobs created by himself?
Any friends in 99 Senate colleagues?
