Gadzooks, this season has just wizzed by... like crap through a goose--

It seems just yesterday that my Cowboys were on a roll... and on their way to Super Bowl 50--

And yet now-- Now, after my Boys were carted off the field... to NFL Injury Hell--

It comes down to a remake of... High Noon...

With old Sheriff... Manning--

Having to face down that young whippersnapper Cam... and his gang of bad boys.

Well, I am going with my heart and picking Old Man Manning... to cap his career with a second Super Bowl Win.

Of course, his #1 Mule Defense will have to give stopping Cam their undivided attention.

We have an extra week here, so y'all... drink--

And make Mary--

"Oh Rob... I have to go sleep with everyone on the NFL Live Thread again!"

And we'll see ya... down the road.

I’m of two minds. I’m an NFC guy, so I always root for the NFC over the AFC, unless the NFC rep is either the Cowboys or 49ers. I don’t mind a new team getting a championship, even though I have no love for the Panthers.

On the other hand, I have a genuine fear that Peyton Manning will only retire after his limbs are actually torn from his torso unless he gets a ring with another team. It’s sort of an Oral Roberts pity play, but it plays to me a bit.

Egads!

The Mules shut-dwon a pass-heavy offense...Ware was spectacular.

But, can the staff of the CamNewtonians arrange to stop that onslaught? I’m thinking...NOT.

Mules, on the superiority of their pass-rush/blitz.

Super Bowl 50? Last year it was XLIX. What happened? Does the NFL think that most Americans do not know that L is the Roman numeral for 50? But then again reading the news, they are probably right. After all XLIX has more letters than L.

My fearless prediction concerning yesterday’s games was that the Broncos D would emasculate the Patriots for a blowout, and the Cards would learn from their previous week’s mistakes and beat the Panthers in a close game. Since I’m 0-2, I think I’ll keep my mouth shut about 50.

Since I’ve lived in Indy all my life and have been a Colts fan since they came to town I’ve got a real soft spot for Payton - I’ll be rooting for the Broncos. I don’t think they can beat the Panthers but I didn’t think they could beat the Pats either, so who knows. I just want to see Payton get that second ring so he doesn’t have to take crap from Eli around the dinner table when the family gets together for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Cam celebrates every time he does anything, at all. He wanted to be a cheerleader but was too big so they made him a QB.

“Denver Broncos Vs Carolina Panthers”

That should be “Carolina Panthers Vs Denver Broncos”.

Small point, I realize, but the Panther uniforms are prettier than the Bronco uniforms. Besides, Peyton Manning is old.

Well, Bendy, we have a long way to go till Game Day. After yesterday, I don’t see how the Broncos can muster enough scoring to beat the Panthers, but I’ll hold off on an official pick till next week. Kubiak has time to come up with a game plan, but I fear a replay of Seahawks - Broncos from two years ago.

It’ll be a close one. I predict a Manning comeback in the 2nd half but only to come up a little short, Carolina wins by a nose.

Can the football Gods really allow Peyton Manning to retire with only 1 title (won over my Bears and their Gross QB at the time) whilst Diet Manning has 2? As as older brother this rankles me.

Surely he should win and ride off into the sunset a champion whilst the cocksure young whippersnapper Cam Newton gets his comeuppance at the hands of the NFL’s top defense? That’s the storybook ending.

I’m tempted to think it could end that way, I find it a tough call.

I don’t especially care who wins though I would like ex-Bear Peanut Tillman (sadly on IR) to get a ring with CAR. Manning is a good Republican man though I find his commercials annoying at times and I resent him for beating the Bears, I was ostensibly rooting for the Colts over the Saints (I really couldn’t stand that America’s sentimental favorite vibe they had) a few years ago but found myself not unhappy that they lost.

I don’t really harbor any ill-feelings towards Cam though I’m not keen on having a Panthers win celebrated as a “Black thing” as I’m sure it would be by some. Sounds like he’s something of an arrogant jerk but I probably would be too if I were him.

I might have chosen to marinate on the decision a while but the hell with it, time to get off the pot.

Should be a good game, 2 good defenses. I’ll wager Newton makes one or two more plays than Peyton, CAR wins.
