Larry Kudlow is LOSING IT over Cruz's 'New York Values' remarks. NYorkers more vain than Texans?
January 16, 2016 | Lee Martell

Posted on 01/16/2016 9:35:25 PM PST by lee martell

I'm listening to Kudlow's Money Talk on the radio. Larry, the host is furious at Ted Cruz for making his remarks. This has become almost a Rorschach Test where everyone gives their own interpretation on exactly what Ted was saying. I know what he was referring to, the New York that would elect Bill de Blasio, had elected Bloomberg, and Hillary to office long before that. These people were elected in spite of their hard left leanings. Ted was speaking of people like Governor Andrew Cuomo, who said "Pro Gun Supporters have no place in the state of New York. Who can forget about the "artpiece" featuring a crucifix dropped into a large jar of urine.

Larry was saying Cruz has ruined his chances and should leave the race. He said Trump 'eviscerated' Cruz in his responses. Some follow up callers disagreed with him, saying to forgive someone for a mistake is the Christian thing to do, vs disowning that person completely.

I don't know many individuals actually from New York, the city or the state. Are any of you more familiar with citizens of this state? Are most this sensitive to negative remarks? Do they still see themselves as the cultural centerpiece of the country?

Cited By Justice Gray in the decion of US v. Wong Kim Ark:

The notion that there is any common law principle to naturalize the children born in foreign countries, of native-born American father and mother, father or mother, must be discarded. There is not, and never was, any such common law principle.

And this

It is universally admitted, both in the English courts and in those of our own country, that all persons born within the Colonies of North America, whilst subject to the Crown of Great Britain, are natural-born British subjects.

and this:

Allegiance is nothing more than the tie or duty of obedience of a subject to the sovereign under whose protection he is, and allegiance by birth is that which arises from being born within the dominions and under the protection of a particular sovereign..... Thus, a person who is born on the ocean is a subject of the prince to whom his parents then owe allegiance; for he is still deemed under the protection of his sovereign, and born in a place where he has dominion in common with all other sovereigns. So the children of an ambassador are held to be [p660] subjects of the prince whom he represents, although born under the actual protection and in the dominions of a foreign prince.

Persons who are born in a country are generally deemed citizens and subjects of that country." Story, Conflict of Laws, § 48.

and finally:

In United States v. Rhodes (1866), Mr. Justice Swayne, sitting in the Circuit Court, said:

All persons born in the allegiance of the King are natural-born subjects, and all persons born in the allegiance of the United States are natural-born citizens.

....with few exceptions, that a man born within the jurisdiction of the common law is a citizen of the country wherein he is born. By this circumstance of his birth, he is subjected to the duty of allegiance which is claimed and enforced by the sovereign of his native land, and becomes reciprocally entitled to the protection of that sovereign, and to the other rights and advantages which are included in the term "citizenship."

I thought it was pretty funny that Ted got scolded by America’s Mayor.

Oh well.

Ted’s a big boy, he can deal with whatever damage he did or didn’t do.

I don’t care about him any longer.

Yeah..”America’s COMMUNIST POS nanny” mayor.
Being flamed by such would be an honor, would mean you are getting under the skin and living rent free in the heads of leftists.

and also from US v. Wong Kim Ark, there's this: To create allegiance by birth, the party must be born not only within the territory, but within the ligeance of the government. If a portion of the country be taken and held by conquest in war, the conqueror acquires the rights of the conquered as to its dominion and government, and children born in the armies of a State, while [p665] abroad and occupying a foreign country, are deemed to be born in the allegiance of the sovereign to whom the army belongs. It is equally the doctrine of the English common law that, during such hostile occupation of a territory, and the parents be adhering to the enemy as subjects de facto, their children, born under such a temporary dominion, are not born under the ligeance of the conquered.

Oh, you meant guiliani the drag wearing RINO squish?
Funny, recently heard Walter Wilhelm referred to as America’s Mayor.
Almost broke the radio.

Yes, I was referring to Giuliani. I’m not sure why anyone would refer to the current mayor as America’s Mayor, but that would make me want to break the radio too.

I like Giuliani. Yes, he is certainly more liberal than I would prefer, but I respect the guy.

I don’t respect liberals.
I live in New York and have to deal with them.

That’s fair enough. I only know the guy from what I have seen of him on TV. He seems decent enough, never did anything to me personally, but I’m sure if I lived there I might feel differently.

Still though, being scolded by Rudy is something I’m pretty sure Cruz would rather not have happen.

Being scolded by a Rino is like having a dour fun hating nanny angry at you.
And Rudy is a RINO.

Well, CRuz (sort of) issued NY an apology, so I guess he took Rudy’s advice :)

Larry Kudlow needs ALL Connecticut conservative voters (all one of them) to vote for him, if he, officially, decides to run for U.S. Senate. Attacking Ted Cruz is a very foolish thing for him to do.

I don’t deny that Rudy is a RINO. I’ve said that of him myself.

But, speaking for myself, I have enough respect for the guy where as if he asked me for an apology, I probably would depending on what it was that I did.

His nannyist actions, his RINO positions, I have zero respect for RINO politicians.
Any respect I might have felt for him vanished when he started presuming to lecture conservatives go vote for more liberals.
(He did, and we sit in the results of such. Liberalism is bad, regardless of R or D affiliation.)

Personally, once a politician is done in office, they should shut their pieholes and butt out.
They aren’t in office anymore, they may be gone for a reason like Sheldon Silver.
At any rate, they should have no more weight or clout than..you or I.

I heard the apology, but I was sort of busy at the time, so I couldn’t focus in on it entirely.

But I have heard others characterize it as a non-apology apology or even doubling down on what he said originally, so I really don’t know what to say about that.

I’ll say this, if I was Ted Cruz, I would apologize. Not in a round about or clever way, but directly.

I realize that Donald Trump doesn’t apologize, and that works for him, but I don’t think it’s going to work for Ted.

In my post up thread, I described how I thought that what he said does in fact impugn the people that were in 9/11, and despite the fact that many of them are no doubt liberals and vote in such a way that would make me displeased, I wouldn’t want to besmirch them. Not in a blanket sort of way as was done. Just don’t want to do that.

Kudlow lost it several years ago. He repeats himself over and over again.

Two entirely different human traits which in this case are polar opposites. Their character, both personal and that of the city as a whole, is what survived and rebuilt ground zero. Their values are what elects their communist mayor, promotes homosexuality and abortion.

Very well stated! Big difference!

Hey!! He was born NEAR the USA ;-)

So was George Romney (Mexico) and John McCain (Panama), although I saw McCain lie again a few days ago and say he was born in the Canal Zone. ...His dad was based in the CZ but when it was time for birthing, they drove to a hospital in the Country of Panama where John was born, instead of the base hospital. .....Both of these guys were ruled to be eligible to be POTUS.
