It’s official: Fox is making a new version of 24.
Also official: The reboot will have an all-new cast, with producers currently seeking an African-American actor to take over for longtime series star Kiefer Sutherland.
[...]
In another switch from the original series, the show will focus less on a lone wolf lead and is more of a “two-hander,” with the Carter character paired with a female co-lead.

A black, a blond, and a gay walk into a bar. The bartender says what is this? Some kind of joke?

I enjoyed his role in the Expendables.

“I think that Idris Elba would be a great choice.”
Yes; that might end the talk about making him the next James Bond.

What is â24â without Jack Bauer?
And who is Jack Bauer without Chloe?
There haven't been many "remakes" that have been successful........

Huh? What a moron! I run into them every day, but I don’t have to subsidize their idiocy.

Did you know that his dad, Donald, is the voice for announcements at O’Hare airport in Chicago as well as the voice-over for Tropicana orange juice?

I watched the entire series of ‘24’ right from the first episode to the last...one of the few shows I paid any attention to when I had cable. Now it seems Hollywood is pandering to sodomites and black Americans...not interested.

No Jack Bauer = I’m not watching it.
Hey, Fox, sometimes you just can’t improve upon the original. This is one of them.

The new Star Wars movies also featured most of the original favorites from the Star Wars trilogy. This 24 reboot won’t feature a single new character.

They really are desperate with the Prison Break and 24 reboots. Both of those series, experienced significant ratings declines as the shows went on.
24: Live Another Day had modest ratings with four returning characters from the original show. With an entirely new cast, I don’t see it doing even close to those ratings. It will probably fail worse than Heroes Reborn.

Hollow-wood has been doing that since there was a Hollow-wood.
Many old movie scripts just changed a few names and locations.
Just let a series become a hit, however, and every network will flood viewers with their variants.

If the reboots start failing (like Heroes Reborn did), maybe the networks will stop rebooting old shows. NBC did much better with original programming (Blindspot) than their Heroes reboot.
