Anybody EVER see a bigger choke job? I certainly never have. Pittsburgh is charmed.

Romney/Ryan was a pretty big choke.

30 yards of penalties to put their opponent in winning field goal range with 18 seconds on the clock. Yeah, that was a choke not even the Heimlich Maneuver could solve.

See 1999 British Open and Jean van de Velde for epic choke of all time.

I’m a Steelers fan. Glad for them - hope Ben is able to play next week.

On the other hand, does anyone else get the impression that the NFL has become the world’s most expensive reality show? Nobody could be as stupid as Burfict and Jones and it not be written into a script.

Did not really have a dog in this fight, but the Bengals had a couple of hot heads and fumble ruin a great comeback!

I haven’t seen anything like this in a LONG time. My beloved Bengals always figure out a way to lose prime time games, especially the first playoff game of every freakin’ year!

They got a hell of a “One and Done” streak going.

A year from now no one will remember. But I will always remember Seattle snatching defeat from the jaws of victory during the last Super Bowl.

Pittsburgh is charmed.

Hardly.

The Bengals wouldn't have even been in the game if an early whistle by the refs had not called back a fumble that the Steeler defense took to the house. That would have put the game at 22-0, and the Bengals would have had to play an entirely different, and very desperate game.

As it was, on both of the Bengals late scores the refs did everything but walk the ball into the end zone for Cincinnati.

24 made a stupid and horrible mistake .. he let his personal animosity toward Rothlesburger (7) get in the way .. and 24 head-butted 7, and knocked him out .. it was the scariest fall I have ever witnessed. And, the films show that 24 purposefully made the attack; 24 went after 7 at full speed.

It was sickening to watch ... and 7 already had an injured shoulder .. so this may not go well for 7’s next game.

But, the Ref’s were furious and basically threw the book at the Bengals.

As a Bengals fan I’ll make no excuses for them. They deserved to lose.

Cincy players are thugs and need to be banned from the game, that will stop that classless behavior once and for all. That headshot on the incomplete pass was a disgusting and criminal cheap shot. I don’t care how good a player is throw in that trash out. Marvin Lewis too! He gives that trash tacit approval.

Choke is not te right word. The Bengals looked like a bunch of thugs. And then when they get caught, they freak out.

I did not want the Steelers winning. But I was laughing by the end of the game. What a sh!t show.

Here is my take for what it’s worth. I wanted to see two good games yesterday, just wanted to watch two good games. I saw a Texas team that should not have been in the game, and the big goose egg when the final whistle blew made my point.

I was then hoping for one good game, and I got a major cluster arrangement, not real good football, fans that threw stuff at an injured player being carted off the field. I saw a coach that should have removed a volatile player before the 3rd quarter and stupid juvenile coaches and players all the way through.

Because I am a sunny optimist, I am hoping for two good games today.

Burfict's hit was one of the nastiest since Jack Tatum speared Daryl Stingley. It made me feel sick.

And Pacman Jones was the cherry on top.

They should both be traded and Lewis should be fired.

I feel for the Cincy fans. That was the worst meltdown that I can remember. Totally unnecessary and idiotic.

Ok. I’ve seen people cite Bills-Oilers, huge comebacks, Michigan’s blocked punt against MSU. I saw a Browns game-winning field goal blocked and returned for a game winning touchdown this year. I was at Red Right 88 and The Drive. I saw The Fumble and in the NBA The Shot. I saw Seattle lose the Super Bowl on a bad play call.

To me, THIS was the biggest choke I ever saw. Cinci’s fumble would have made it just a normal choke. Burfict’s penalty elevated it to Epic Choke. Jones’ penalty elevated it to the stratosphere of All Time Epic Choke.

Everything else I witnessed generally had to do with natural plays. Things that can and do happen. This was off the charts.

I guess the only choke that I’ve seen sort of similar was the Dwayne Rudd Helmet Toss. When the Browns lost a game and a playoff berth to KC when Rudd removed his helmet on the field to get a 15 yard penalty with no time on the clock giving KC a game winning FG. But even that one can’t compare.

Oh there have been MUCH bigger chokes. And with the starting QB and star receiver hurt not sure how charmed Pitt is.
