Hillary Clinton is raking in donations from Wall Street, and her attempts to downplay it are under fire.
Bernie Sanders and Martin O'Malley both hit Clinton hard for her Wall Street ties in Saturday night's Democratic debate.
Clinton responded with this claim: "I think it's important to point out that about 3% of my donations come from people in the finance and investment world. You can go to OpenSecrets.org and check that. I have more donations from students and teachers than I do from people associated with Wall Street."
The audience applauded, but factcheckers were quick to challenge it. CNN's Factcheck team called the claim "false," and Martin O'Malley's campaign dubbed it "one of the most glaring false statements of the night."
On Monday, OpenSecrets.org added its thumbs down. It says Clinton's Wall Street cash is actually 7.2% of the total -- more than double what she stated in the debate.

To be fair, everybody in politics is owned by Wall Street. They just usually don’t deny it as Hillary does.
Socialist Bernie Sanders is really, really "for the people". At the first Demo/rat debate, he regurgitated his disgust with Wall Street, and those he feels contribute to (sob) "inequality" in America.
Surprisingly, Bernie l-o-v-e-s Hillary despite hating Wall Street hogging all the wealth leaving the working classes w/ nothing. So it was a real tear-jerker when "kindly compassionate" Bernie stoutly defended Hillary's criminality WRT her State Dept emails....as Hillary glowed w/ approval.
OH, I JUST CAN'T WAIT---Will be such fun to see Bernie defend THIS Hillary.
Then-US Sen Clinton and then-Sen Corzine on the Capitol steps.
EXHIBIT ONE When that pic was snapped, Corzine was fresh out of Goldman Sachs executive suite, buying his NJ Senate seat office for $65 million; then buying the NJ governorship. Out of office, he ran a hedge fund where $1.5 B went missing....that employed both Bill Clinton and then-Secy of State Hillary's top aide Huma Abedin.
EXHIBIT TWO When Chelsea Clinton's husband started a hedge fund, he gained access to investors who had ties to the Clintons and to Goldman Sachs. Back in 2011, Mezvinsky, now 37, and two former Goldman Sachs'ers ââ¬â Bennett Grau and Mark Mallon ââ¬â began raising money for Mezvinsky's Eaglevale Partners LP hedge fund.
Some of Mezvinsky's investors included Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein. Blankfein, a slavish Democrat supporter, said he had "always been a fan of Hillary Clinton." The WSJ reported extensively on the hedge fund's underperformance since its inception and Mezvinsky's mediocre investing and strategizing.
===========================================
EXHIBIT THREE Then-US Sen Jon Corzine (D-NJ), used his office to pass a special tax exemption for a Japanese bank he owned----his Goldman Sachs crony, Christopher Flowers---adminstrator of Sen Corzine's "blind trust"--- used Corzine's blind assets to takeover the Japanese bank. Corzine later said he "did not know" the legislation he sponsored "benefited" him.
There's a well-known saying in Congress---"One hand washes the other." You vote for my bill; I vote for your bill." So did Hillary vote for Corzine's legislation....giving tax breaks for a Japanese bank Corzine's "blind trust" owned?
AND what other Wall Street deals did Corzine make w/ Hillary to enrich himself...and her?
"Bernie, I insist you go first."

At first glance, the Clintons astounding honoraria and humongous Foundation donations seem to provide the bulk of the couples mega-wealth.
Bills honoraria increased dramatically earning some $50 million during Hillarys four-year term as Secretary of State....including an Irish scholarship fund, a Korean conglomerate, and, a Nigerian newspaper company......each of whom paid Clinton more than half a million dollars for a single speech.
The Wash/Post reports Hillary earned $11.7 million for 51 speeches since Jan 2014.....she pocketed an astonishing $625,000 for two speeches in one day!
I firmly believe the Clinton Foundations gigantic donor list, and their astonishing blizzard of speaking honoraria, are a smoke screen for their secret wealth and the way they make billions sub rosa intertwining their vaunted do-goodism and public office.
The calculated Clintons have sought to branch out into other business activities. All of that is kept under wraps. Very little is known about the exact nature and financial worth of Bill and Hillarys non-speech business interests.
Reports keep surfacing indicating the Clintons were party to multi-billion dollar Mideast arms deals....Kazakhstan uranium mines....and Haitian gold mines...Libyan oil deals....telecom businesses, deals w/ financial powerhouses like Teneo, Goldman Sachs.....etc etc etc.
THE CON ARTIST CLINTONS GRABBED EVERYTHNG THAT WASNT NAILED DOWN Lucrative business interests were cunningly intertwined w/ the Foundations vaunted do-good activities....enabled by Hillarys power seat at the State Dept.
At last count, the Clintons apparently raised an astounding $3 billion from their foundation activities and their political campaigns.....
.....that does not include monies flowing in from the various lucrative business ventures, interest accrued, safe deposit boxes, real estate assets, passive income on which they pay no taxes, income from Chelseas hubbys hedge fund, monies invested in Goldman Sachs, interest in financial powerhouse Teneo..... etc etc etc.......
The Clintons are worth a bundle.....accumulated in record time. Their livelihood was collected as they marched through American politics.
LITTLE ROCK Over four decades of public life, Bill and Hillary Clinton have built an unrivaled global network of donors while pioneering fundraising techniques that have transformed modern politics and paved the way for them to potentially become the first husband and wife to win the White House.
The grand total raised for all of their political campaigns and their familys charitable foundation reaches at least $3 billion, according to a Washington Post investigation.
Their fundraising haul, which began with $178,000 that Bill Clinton raised for his long-shot 1974 congressional bid, is on track to expand substantially with Hillary Clintonââ¬â¢s 2016 White House run, which has already drawn $110 million in support.
The Wash/Post identified donations from roughly 336,000 individuals, corporations, unions and foreign governments in support of their political or philanthropic endeavors...a list that includes top patrons such as Steven Spielberg and George Soros, as well as lesser-known backers who have given smaller amounts dozens of times.
Not included in the count are an untold number of small donors whose names are not identified in campaign finance reports but together have given millions to the Clintons over the years.
The majority of the money....some $2 billion (that we know of)....has gone to the Clinton Foundation, one of the worlds fastest-growing charities, which supports health, education and economic development initiatives around the globe.
A handful of elite givers have contributed more than $25 million to the foundation, including Canadian mining magnate Frank Giustra, who is among the wealthy foreign donors who have given tens of millions (NOTE Giustra facilitated the sell off of US uranium assets to Russia and heads the Canadian branch of the Clinton Foundation)......

Looks like Hillary found Sanders’ FBI file [or some equivalent — could be she knows more about his raid on her campaign files than she says in public].
Sanders is toast.
You go, Liz!
