Donald Trump Goes Nuclear: Let's Face It, Ted Cruz 'Is a Bit of a Maniac'
PJ Media ^ | 12-13-2015 | Michael van der Galien

Posted on 12/13/2015 7:33:18 AM PST by Michael van der Galien

In what's more evidence that Donald Trump is becoming completely unhinged, he is now stooping so low as to label Tea Party favorite Ted Cruz "a bit of a maniac":

"I don’t think he’s qualified to be president… I don’t think he has the right temperament. I don’t think he’s got the right judgment… You look at the way he’s dealt with the Senate, where he goes in there like a — you know, frankly like a little bit of a maniac. You’re never going to get things done that way."

He added:

"Look, I built a phenomenal business. I’m worth many, many billions of dollars. I have some of the greatest assets anywhere in the world. You can’t walk into the Senate, and scream, and call people liars, and not be able to cajole and get along with people. He’ll never get anything done. And that’s the problem with Ted."

It's rather fascinating that this is coming from the most bombastic and maniacal presidential candidate in history. Almost every single one of his proposals are downright outlandish, and he calls everyone who dares disagree with him "a loser" and worse. See how he smeared Dr. Ben Carson by calling him "pathological."

What's more, Trump's latest jabs at Cruz prove that he has no idea what real conservatives want. Cruz promised them to stand up for their values in Washington D.C., even if the establishment would hate him for it. That's exactly what he's done, and it's one of the main reasons that he's now so popular among Evangelicals, very conservative voters, and those who identify themselves with the Party.

If I was Cruz, I'd politely ask The Donald to attack me even more. After all, this will only end up helping, rather than hurting him.

Cruz has been shaking the tree since his days in Texas, and certainly since his arrival in Washington, while Trump was doing a reality show.

Give me a record of action, not just words.

Cruz and Sessions just wrote up a bill to reform and restrict H-1Bs.

Cruz has put his ass on the line in the Senate before, as you’ve said. Having said that, I do not think Trump’s statement is entirely unjustified.

Let me explain. In a practical sense, Trump is a deal maker. He understands/believes that to make any change in the world of business and politics, you have to be an idealogue in principle but a pragmatist in action. In that sense, an all or nothing personality who doesn’t understand or use incrementalism won’t make any positive changes at all.

Additionally, if I look at this from Trump’s perspective, he just heard a few days ago that Cruz was (apparently?) faking his cameradrae just to try to get voters. If I heard that someone I knew was doing that, I’d be seriously pissed off. This kind of response in this situation is actually MILD coming from Trump.

Trump tweeted a question this morning - what has Cruz done about the the immigrants the feds placed in Texas?

Well, Cruz did go down to the border with Beck to hand out toys to the illegal alien kids. And he probably said, "Make America Greet Again". :)

“Trump is totally ego driven and must attack those who are getting in his way.”

I just wanted to read that again so I can continue weighing the pros and cons of this little factoid. There is a fine line between:

1) a man who uses an ego-driven but controlled steamroller approach against the enemy-of-the-moment, and
2) a man who uses an ego-driven but OUT-of-control steamroller approach against the enemy-of-the-moment.

IMO, our country NEEDS and MUST HAVE the #1 person right now - the Controlled Steamroller - to save the Republic. Nothing less will suffice to defeat the Islamomarxists who will destroy us. But if Trump turns out to be #2, then that is potentially a deep, dark, and dangerous place we could find ourselves in, similar to socialism just at the other end of the ideological spectrum. Would it be worth taking that chance? I know we are MUCH closer to the edge of the full-blown Socialism/Marxism cliff than we are to the polar opposite, but I dunno...

If Trump is just throwing a warning salvo against Cruz, that is one thing - we are still safely looking at Man #1. But if he ramps this up to an unnecessary level, well... That would indicate lack of control and good judgment. He will achieve nothing except to make people like me think perhaps he is Man #2. It would drive many of us towards Cruz. It is truly Trump’s call, and I am watching very closely.

In the meantime, here is a starter list for our Steamroller/Bulldozer targets! (in no particular order). Feel free to dream right along with me. :-)

Harry Reid

Nancy Pelosi and her Obamacare

John Boehner & Mitch McConnell

Orin Hatch and Trent Lott, for their previous RINO actions and lies and just for the hell of it

The EPA land-grabbers who want to control our ditches and mud puddles

The Dept of Education cronies who want to control our kids* and grandkids* minds

The UN globalists who want to control everything!

Gun control fanatics who want to obliterate the 2nd A and take our guns

Lynch, who wants to squelch our 1st A rights to speak out against Islamic extremism

ISIS and MB zealots who hate America so much they’ll steal our heads for it

Hillary the Marxist, who should’ve been jailed years ago in a cell next to Susan McDougal

China, Mexico, Japan et al, who’ve been taking us to the cleaner$ for decades

The President doesn’t create jobs.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump’s idea of jumpstarting the economy would be to pass a Son of Stimulus type bill, loaded with pork projects. Business as usual. As a businessman he would have an urge to tinker with, command and control the economy rather than doing the right, conservative, laissez-faire approach.

You interpret Trump saying "C'mon Chris, he's a little bit of a maniac" to mean Trump supports Dems, Rinos, and McConnell. OK that's cool. You sound like a bit of a drama queen though.

No, you're being dishonest or at least not very objective.

I was responding to the full context of Trump's comment, not the little snippet that you quote. You conveniently take Trump's comment "he's a little bit of a maniac" out of it's full context. And then You falsely attribute my comment to your out-of-context snippet. Why did you do that?

Read the full context of Trump's comment and then get back to me when you are a little more objective.

Trump:

As I said, Trump's comment sounds like something McConnell, Obama, the RINOS, the GOPe, the left, the Democrats, John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Big Media would say.

That makes me wonder of the artist in Southern Cal who was doing the Cruz mash-up posters could put Cruz in a Saturday Night Fever, John Travolta disco jumpsuit and get away with it being positive endorsement.

You've seen the art work I was referring to, I assume, so I'll be lazy here and not search to find a link to it.

And Trump said he’s going to let the “good ones” back in in expedited fashion. How is that not amnesty by another name? Even the amnesty bills under Bush/Obama sometimes discussed a penalty where the illegal would return home and re-apply to get back in.

Cruz's and Sessions' bill requires an employer to commit to paying the foreign workers either what an American worker who did identical or similar work made two years prior to the recruiting effort or $110,000 -- whichever is higher.

Window dressing. This is a loophole that will be exploited. Nobody is going to administer this program and check records. It is a corrupt system designed to be abused. The only solution is to kill H-1B by taking quotas down to zero. No sale.

It would be ok if Trump responded by saying Cruz lacks judgement to be President, to put the finger on the button. But instead, Trump said Cruz is a “bit of a maniac”. I WAS starting to like Trump more than Cruz, do to his comments on temporarily halting islamic immigration. But now, I’m solidly back in the Cruz corner.

Under Trumps plan they would ALL have to leave and then apply and be approved. He is the ONLY candidate who will deport...Ted Cruz has stated he will not, but would ‘legalize’ them all...HOW is THAT not amnesty?

Donald Trump is the ONLY candidate who is actually following the RNC platform!
“amnesty only rewards, encourages lawbreaking.” http://www.ontheissues.org/Celeb/Republican_Party_Immigration.htm

C’mon, people.

You have presented the case well. having a big ego that can be controlled is a good thing. Cruz doesn’t come across as being driven by ego but rather than wanting to correct the damage that the RINOs and Democrats have done. Cruz isn’t perfect but he is better than all the rest. And Trump, while he talks a good game, comes across as a ME ME type. Some of his plans are good, but as a person one gets the feeling he cant be trusted.
Wonder what all these trump supporters will do when he goes 3rd party? If Cruz gets the nomination and trump splits, will they blindly follow Trump off the cliff and hand the country to the Shrew?

I just saw on TV what Trump said, and I agree. It was VERY mild. Just more proof that the conservative media can play Drama Queen just like the liberal media.

Trump supports expediting them back. Legally. The legally is important. What new laws has Trump proposed?

Answer: Expediting them back. I'm sure Ryan and Mitch are chomping at the bit to legally expedite them back.

As Trump has said, he wants to "work something out".
