In what's more evidence that Donald Trump is becoming completely unhinged, he is now stooping so low as to label Tea Party favorite Ted Cruz "a bit of a maniac":
"I don’t think he’s qualified to be president… I don’t think he has the right temperament. I don’t think he’s got the right judgment… You look at the way he’s dealt with the Senate, where he goes in there like a — you know, frankly like a little bit of a maniac. You’re never going to get things done that way."
He added:
"Look, I built a phenomenal business. I’m worth many, many billions of dollars. I have some of the greatest assets anywhere in the world. You can’t walk into the Senate, and scream, and call people liars, and not be able to cajole and get along with people. He’ll never get anything done. And that’s the problem with Ted."
It's rather fascinating that this is coming from the most bombastic and maniacal presidential candidate in history. Almost every single one of his proposals are downright outlandish, and he calls everyone who dares disagree with him "a loser" and worse. See how he smeared Dr. Ben Carson by calling him "pathological."
What's more, Trump's latest jabs at Cruz prove that he has no idea what real conservatives want. Cruz promised them to stand up for their values in Washington D.C., even if the establishment would hate him for it. That's exactly what he's done, and it's one of the main reasons that he's now so popular among Evangelicals, very conservative voters, and those who identify themselves with the Party.
If I was Cruz, I'd politely ask The Donald to attack me even more. After all, this will only end up helping, rather than hurting him.

If the Corker bill had not happened, Obama was going to do the Iran deal totally without Congress. Since the Corker bill, Congress has withheld it’s approval, so the next President can totally nullify the deal. Trump has said he would not tear up the deal, but Cruz has vowed to do so on the first day in office.
With Cruz you will get a fence, some lip service to immigration reform and possible amnesty. I think with Cruz it will be business as usual, H-1B will not change and no deportations. The Cheap-Labor-Express is not going to have a problem with Cruz.
One more Islamist terror attack in the USA and Trump is a shoe -in.
You are so right. After the last 7 years, this country desperately needs someone who can bring the country back together and work with Congress and the Senate to get them moving and cooperating. Cruz can not do that and listening to him, seems to have no intention of trying.
Cruz started all of this by questioning Trump’s judgement. Cruz said he wasn’t going to attack Trump. The kill him with kindness thing was all a lie to get Trump supporters. This is going to end very badly for Cruz.
This election cycle economics and safety are the concern. People in Iowa are hurting for jobs. You can pray all you want, and the evangelical leaders can lecture all they want about prayer and whom to vote for but in the end economics are very very powerful.
Iowans will look at the guy who has created tens of thousands of jobs or the guy who has voted on a lot of bills. The differences could not be any clearer.
As I said economics is very very powerful thing this cycle around especially when unemployment is above 20%.

News flash: The Corker bill APPROVED the Iranian deal.
I look forward to the next debate. Finally we’re going to see who can stand the heat. It’s going to be interesting. Every time I think the debates got stale, something happens to make them exciting. Trump vs Cruz is going to be legendary.
So, what you are saying is that you are Ok with Trump handing boat loads of his cash to lefty democrats because its his money. Fair enough. Like a John paying a whore is ok because he is using his own money.
Trump has one conviction in life and that is his earth shattering ego. He will do anything to feed it. And you and the rest of the Trumpettes feed into it.
Cruz is the smartest man we have. He has had a few lapses but for the most part he is solid with a proven track record. Paying his salary is worth the taxes.
The Iran deal has NOT been approved by Congress. The House voted against it and the Senate hasn’t voted because Obama never turned over the side deals.
No worries. When the Republican machine and Dewhurst rolled out every vile attack they could think of against Cruz in Texas, he just stayed focused on the issues and his message and never responded in kind. He won by 14%.
So far Trump has been able to paint a characterization of every candidate.
And, so far, it's stuck to each of them.
Infantile Rubio.
Slow and lazy Bush.
Etc.

Well I would say that’s a fair statement. Cruz has no plan to deport. He’s going to let them all stay and legalize them. He is using the excuse of not giving the illegals citizenship to rationalize that he’s not for amnesty. I’m not happy with that.
I thought the same thing except Cruz is not a kettle. I think Cruz was right to call out liars but I can’t equate that with Trump’s name calling. The list of liars, maniacs, psychopaths, losers, jerks etc is quite long. Cruz has self control.
I’m not here to participate in a ‘cage match’.

Trump is playing to them and their hatred of Cruz hoping for backup.

Would it bother you to discover that when Cruz and his team declares Rubio to be lying, that Cruz is, in fact, lying his ass off to you and to all his supporters?
Whether it does or not, the fact that it is provable that Cruz is lying to his supporters about his immigration position/history, should remove the whole "life long conservative" thing and replace it with "slick salesmen and symbol of why people like Obama get in power."
