Obesity is still rising among American adults, despite more than a decade of public-awareness campaigns and other efforts to get people to watch their weight, and women have now overtaken men in the obese category, new government research shows.
For the past several years, experts thought the nation's alarming, decades-long rise in obesity had leveled off. But the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a report Thursday that the obesity rate has climbed to nearly 38 percent of adults, up from 32 percent about a decade earlier.

Lard hips, Buddha belly, thunder thighs, whatever . . .
Nanny State PING!
Defining obesity down.
Continuing the trend, soon everyone will be obese, even the most anorexic heroin addict.
The obesity crisis movement precisely parallels the anthropomorphic global warming crisis movement, and one hundred percent of the adherents of one engage in the same mental myopia as the adherents of the other.
“The Women of WalMart” come to mind
Get off our backs already!
Did CDC or any other Fat Police explain why we should compare ourselves to our forefathers/mothers who went through a Depression and major wars. Maybe there just wasn’t enough to eat back then, and they were all TOO SKINNY and not any healthier!!!! I know some very slender people who are 300+ on their cholesterol, on BP meds, blown their knees out from too much running, etc etc etc.
Trust me, an obese person with two X-chromosomes is neither a lady nor a woman.
I have never seen such fat women. I went to the mall the other day and they generally were repulsive and fat beyond proper description. No wonder men won’t marry them anymore. First they can leave and take his kids for no reason and he has to pay hundreds of thousands to the fat girl for his “Kids”. These woman need to shape up.This system id badly broken.
The title sounds like an odd sort of race: Obese Women Overtake Men
Look out boyz, we gonna sit on ya!
MooseShell, Hitlery, examples of same.
My husband was at a Walmart a while back, came home and said he saw a woman with two butts.
Well according to the BMI index, at 5’ 11” and 205 lbs (male), I am 1 point below obese. I have no belly, but am big boned and muscular. Obesity is being re-defined for obvious reasons. All propaganda for more control over our lives. As to your comment, I have met many sexy, curvy women that would be clinically obese based on the current definition.
It’s because men are no longer allowed to call women fat.
Fat Bottom Girls
Legally it might be recognized as two women. In certain places of the country.
Bmi is a retarded zero-think, zero tolerance idiotic system.
You cant just automatically declare someone more or less fit only considering their height and weight. It is the stupidest narrow minded specious way to determine fitness.
Not to mention when they switched to this method of what was fit, overnight millions of people who were just fine became overweight doing noting.
Docs make many healthy people sick worrying about arbitrary scales and numbers. And put a lot of people needlessly on drugs.
I was going to post:
TTIPFWOP - This Thread Is Perfectly Fine Without Pictures
and then you went ahead and did that.
It’s long past time for the government to step up to the plate to solve this problem. I propose a fat tax of a dollar per pound per day over one’s ideal weight determined by a panel of government “doctors” based on height, gender, and age.
Naturally, such a tax places a disproportionate burden on the poor, so it won’t apply to anyone who lives below the income poverty level, and will be graduated for the middle-class. In other words, this fat tax will hit hardest at fat fat-cats, as it well should.
I think its time for Mattel to create the "Morbidly Obese Barbie" to help girls feel good about their bodies.
