The thermal scanning was made at sunrise as the sun heats the structures from the outside, and then at sunset when the pyramids are cooling down. The speed of the heating and cooling phases was used to uncover "anomalies" such as empty areas in the pyramids, which could be internal air currents or different building materials.
Minister of Antiquities Mamdouh Eldamaty told reporters at a press conference, which was held Monday night at the step of the Great Pyramid plateau, that the result of the infrared thermography scan on the first row of the pyramidâs limestone blocks shows that all the blocks have the same temperature, with the exception of three which are hotter.
Eldamaty said that these three blocks were "different in formation," and that a similar situation was also noted in the middle of the eastern side of the pyramid.
He also said that while inspecting the ground in front the eastern side of the pyramid, scientists found "that there is something like a small passage leading up to the pyramid ground, reaching an area with a different temperature.
...
An Egyptian Egyptologist, who spoke to Ahram Online on condition of anonymity, said that nothing would be found behind the blocks except for fractures, as this is the "mother rock" of the plateau.
He said that when the ancient Egyptians built the pyramids, they inserted the blocks and the casing of the two first rows of the pyramids on the area's mother rock.

Thanks BenLurkin, glad you posted it, I’d held off. Will ping later. Here’s an earlier article about a related plan:

Thanks BenLurkin.
Right now I'm streaming some kind of "search for Hitler" show on History Channel online. After the War, the Soviets accused the western allies of harboring Hitler, even produced fake testimony to the effect that he escaped Berlin. By that time the reds had already been satisfied that the remains they'd found (and buried, then exhumed, then studied some more, then re-interred) were those of Hitler, but they diin't share that info.
Anyway, these experts (koff koff) are searching for his home in exile in Argentina, which is interesting, because AFAIK Hitler never went to either American continent at any time in his life. FWIW, there's an anecdote in one of Long John Nebel's books about a supposed intel file regarding a nursing home or hospital patient in Argentina (I think it was) who was named or purported to be Adolf Hitler, died in the 1960s.
Makes the search for the remains of Egyptian pharaohs seem a lot more plausible, eh?
LOLOL
IIRC, the Great Pyramid was hundreds of years old at the time of Joseph. The pyramid dates to about 2600 BC, and by my reckoning, Joseph dates to no later than about 2000 BC.
Never said anything about Joseph....
There’s an interesting, and very much plausible, theory that the pyramids were built from the inside out, using internal ramps that were filled in or otherwise plugged.
Can’t remember where I heard of this, it’s being proposed by some French engineer and there were several TV segments on it that made their way to YouTube.
Remnants of those ramps could account for this.
I LOVE THAT WHOLE ALBUM!
My favorite song from that album:
What Goes Up
What goes up must come down
What must rise must fall
And what goes on in your life
Is writing on the wall!
If all things must fall
Why build a miracle at all?
If all things must pass
Even a miracle won’t last
What goes up must come down
What must stand alone
And what goes on in your mind
Is turning into stone!
If all things must fall
Why build a miracle at all?
If all things must pass
Even a pyramid won’t last
How can you be so sure?
How do you know what the end will endure?
How can you be so sure
That the wonders you’ve made in your life will be seen
By the millions who’ll follow to visit the site
Of your dream?
What goes up must come down
What goes ‘round must come ‘round
What’s been lost must be found
However, there are, most definitely, Nazi-decended families who remain in Central America, in somewhat remote areas.
Martin Bormann was supposedly in South America too, with many “sightings.” The Germans found a body not far from the fuhrerbunker they thought was his and when DNA technology caught up was confirmed to be his. It’s amazing what people can “see” when they really want too.
I didn’t read the article, but if they are voids or fractured (cheap) rock, I would expect them to be warmer in the morning scans, but cooler during the evening scans. Of course the journalist might have messed things up a bit.
Yes, but there really were a lot of Nazis in Argentina.
There was a scheme whereby corrupt Nazis allowed Jews to be ransomed out of the death camps. Much of that money was shipped to Argentina as a hedge against losing the war, along with other loot.
Much of the Gehlen organization and their families also went to or through Argentina, which is the source of the slander against the Catholic Church vis a vis the Nazis.
Imo, the fact that so many of them pharaohs got Jimmy Hoffa’d proves that Egypt was run by labor unions... and organized crime.
My understanding is Skorzeny spent time in Argentina and helped other Nazis get there.

The German diaspora is quite old, and despite there having been no single German state until the mid 19th c, and hence no large overseas conquests (unlike Spain, Portugal, France, and Britain, and even the Netherlands and Belgium got into the act), Germans wound up far and wide, particularly in the Americas. The Pennsylvania 'Dutch' (Deutsch), also my ancestors, have been in N America over 300 years, and the first trickled in during the New Amsterdam settlement of the Dutch.
I also have cousins in Brazil, descended from relatives who migrated there in the 1870s, in part for the gold rush, and in part because there was already a substantial and fairly old German community there.
After WWII there were the "rat lines" run by expatriate ex-Nazis and non-German sympathizers; they arranged for the emigration (mostly to Latin America) of low-priority war criminals and so forth who felt that arrest was imminent. Joachim Pieper, otoh, elected to live in France, which is where he was murdered by some, well, murderers.
Others took their chances, stood trial, served time, and lived a while after release. 'Sepp' Dietrich did 10 long in Spandau, then spent his remaining years lobbying for German veterans, particularly from the Waffen SS. Dietrich had headed the Liebstandarte Adolf Hitler, technically answering to Himmler, but Dietrich reported directly to Hitler, and was the only man he trusted. Solid soldier, not a strategic thinker, great field commander, led from the front (in a white tank, a US veteran once told me), fightin'est officer those crazy Nazi bastards had.
