Architect Says Pyramid Built Inside Out

A French architect said on Friday he had cracked a 4,500-year-old mystery surrounding Egypt's Great Pyramid, saying it was built from the inside out.

Previous theories have suggested Pharaoh Khufu's tomb, the last surviving example of the seven great wonders of antiquity, was built using either a vast frontal ramp or a ramp in a corkscrew shape around the exterior to haul up the stonework.

But flouting previous wisdom, Jean-Pierre Houdin said advanced 3D technology had shown the main ramp which was used to haul the massive stones to the apex was contained 10-15 meters beneath the outer skin, tracing a pyramid within a pyramid.

"This is better than the other theories, because it is the only theory that works," Houdin told Reuters after unveiling his hypothesis in a lavish ceremony using 3D computer simulation.

To prove his case, Houdin teamed up with a French company that builds 3D models for auto and airplane design, Dassault Systemes, which put 14 engineers for 2 years on the project.

Now, an international team is being assembled to probe the pyramid using radars and heat detecting cameras supplied by a French defense firm, as long as Egyptian authorities agree.

Of course it was built from inside out- what idiot would start with building the outer shell and then haul all the rest of it over the outer shell to dump inside? It would be even more stupid than building a pyramid in the first place. Besides, they did not have concrete pumps yet.

I just always figured they built them by hauling in big stones, fitting and stacking them until they had finished the pyramid. Next mystery?

built inside out.

Wow. It took them all these years to spot that mistake?

How will they turn it right-side in now?

They must have built it from the bottom up, and I need a juicy research grant to prove this hunch.

I like the Creationist theory: earth is only 6,000 years old. Dinosaurs lived with people. Triceratops and Brontosaurus hauled the big rocks!

Maybe they froze them in ice, flooded the are, floated them in, chipped away the ice, let them sink, then drained the swamp and changed the soil. (I've got a million of em.)

Nah, you need to make it more ludicrous if you want any money thrown at you. Say, for example, you claim that the Egyptians started them from the top and worked down.

Didn't everyone else have the ramps on the outside?

This is a cool idea of having the ramps on what will end up being inside.

The concept of counter weights sounds pretty clever also, it would make the huge blocks almost weightless. I would like to see how they reset the counter weight.

I do not see any thing to make fun of here, it is an interesting new approach.

> ... flooded the area ...

It is credibly speculated that they did at least flood
the footprint of a pyramid to establish level, prior
to piling rocks on it, of course.

Using very thin reeds, they balanced the immense stones into place, then released ants to remove the reeds?????

How do you want the $10 Million research fund money? $50s, $100s or just dump it in your checking account?

I was expecting magic levitation crystals on loan from Atlantis.

Does this constitute France's biggest military victory to date?

My research shows that this is where pyramid schemes originated.

"..assembled to probe the pyramid using radars and heat detecting cameras.."

Of course, if there are Reptilians beneath, the infared cameras might not detect the cold blooded creatures....0;^0
