[T]here is NOTHING remotely conservative about Donald Trump and his candidacy.
You have to give them a path, a path to citizenship. Where have I heard that one before? I know, Jeb Bush and Lindsey Graham and of course every Democrat as well. Heâs zero for one there.
How about taxes? When Trump ran for president in 1999, he proposed a gigantic wealth tax on the American people, a 14.25% levy that he calculated would raise $5.7 trillion and wipe out the debt forever in one fell swoopâa wealth tax, going into your bank account and pulling out money from bank accounts. Obama is into his second term, and he hasnât even suggested that.
Since the 80s, he struggled so much with his identity, he has switched parties five times. Remember, a few months ago when people wanted George Stephanopoulos fired because he gave to the Clinton Foundation, remember that? Well, Donald Trump has given even more to the Clinton Foundation than Stephanopoulos did. Heâs given over $100,000 to the Clintons.
Since 1990, heâs given at least $541,650 to Democrats, far more than he gave to Republicans. The guy gave money to Rahm Emanuel and Harry Reid, Harry freaking Reid.
Trump said, âIâm totally pro-choice. I hate it and I hate saying it. And Iâm almost ashamed to say that Iâm pro-choice but I am pro-choice because I think we have no choice.â What? And âI believe it is a personal decision that should be left to the women and their doctors.â
Donald Trump: I think Bush is probably the worst president in the history of the United States.
He indicated his ideal vice president would be diehard Obama supporter Oprah Winfrey, and he was a registered Democrat until 2009
How about eminent domain? Years ago, Trump was looking to add a few more parking spots to one of his casinos in Atlantic City. To do so, he needed to acquire the property of Vera Coking, a senior citizen who had lived there for over three decades. So, did he make her an offer she couldnât refuse? No, he decided to use eminent domain. Yes, this conservative argued that the government needed to take a wrecking ball to this sweet old womanâs home, her private property, because it was an eyesore.
Thatâs not all on eminent domain, of course, because the big one is when the government destroyed peopleâs homes in Connecticut so an office building could be built in the Kelo decision which might be the worst Supreme Court ruling of my lifetime. Trump said he backed the government 100%. Eminent domain is more than something he supports. Itâs his business plan. In fact, a nice chunk of Trumpâs wealth has come from using the force of government to take property from private individuals to line his pockets. Beyond the sheer lack of basic humanity, it definitely takes a liberal progressive to do something like that.
No, he really didn’t. He was pretty critical of Mitt on a number of issues.
Like most people, he supported Mitt over BO.
So, this is Elmer Gantry’s view?
Beck has been dead to me for years. He has mental issues.
Beck is unlistenable. Not sure what how.. “This is the most dangerous time/situation/period in out nation’s history...” over and over again can be anything but a tedious bore.
Has the media, who had been trashing Trump 24/7, been able to find one person in Trump's past that has anything bad to say about him?
No. They all say he is loyal and honest.
Sorry but you are wrong. I was for Newt and he trashed Newt and pushed Mitt constantly in the primaries.
He considered Newt a “progressive”. He promoted Santorum a lot. (I think he was a Bachmann supporter who moved to Santorum.)
I get a kick out of many who proclaim Trump is not a conservative, or that he is a false conservative. So why are these people powerless to elect a true conservative as president?
What exactly have the true conservatives in congress accomplished?
Obamacare scrapped? Illegals deported? Wall built? Anchor babies outlawed? National debt reduced? Abortion restricted? China trade deficit reduced? Food stamp growth curbed? Welfare growth reduced?
If Trump can deliver any 3 of above, he is more than enough conservative for me and most rational people.
Trump is conservative on these issues:
Pro life since at least 2011, wanted to ban partial birth abortion as far back as 2000.
Pro Traditional marriage. "Gay rights is not my thing."
Pro capital punishment "Capital punishment isn't uncivilized; murderers living is"
Hold Judges accountable
Opposes "Common core is a disaster" Teach citizenship, quit "dumbing down".
Anti education unions (2000)
For school choice
"Climate Change is a hoax"
"No Cap-and-Tax"
For drilling our own.
On Environment "Good development enhances the environment"
Stressed the importance of a strong family & culture of life (2015)
Supports Israel
Opposes Iran deal and letting Iran obtain the bomb.
Wants to crush ISIS quickly.
Wants a military so strong no one will challenge us.
Against unbalanced trade deals that kill American jobs.
Against warrant-less government surveillance of citizens.
Is against having a high national debt. Warns that $24T is a point of no return.
Against gun control
For assault weapon ban but says the AR-15 shouldn't be considered an assault weapon.
Wants to repeal Obamacare and replace it with market driven polices and increased competition among insurance companies.
Wants to increase military spending.
Will close the border to illegals
Will send the criminals and sponges back.
Will deport all illegals but will let the hard working ones go through the legal process to come back.
Against Anchor babies
Knows unemployment is much higher than official stats.
Will bring jobs back through better trade negotiation.
Attended military academy and Wharton Business School.
Stood up for Birthers and challenged Obama on his fraud. Believes USA is "the greatest force for freedom the world has ever known"
Wants to honor commitments on Social Security and Medicare, which we can afford to do if he gets the economy going full steam.
Wants to reduce the fraud in disability and other programs.
Against marriage penalties in tax code.
Wants to simplify tax code with just 3 simple brackets.
Wants to reduce income taxes and eliminate corporate tax.
Wants to rebuild our infrastructure.
Wants to apply welfare-to-work to 76 other welfare programs (2011)
Doesn't have time for political correctness.
Not afraid to call out either party or both when they are wrong.
Not a puppet to rich campaign donors.
It may have been that he thought Mitt was the most electable but he did support him.
Glenn Beck is a strange guy who alternates between moments of Einsteinian brilliancy and tin hat lunacy.
From what I was hearing, he was supporting Santorum at that point.
“Has the media, who had been trashing Trump 24/7, been able to find one person in Trump’s past that has anything bad to say about him?”
I have heard people saying bad things. What does the qualifier “in Trump’s past” indicate?
The issue isn’t Beck. It’s Trump and his record. Nobody seems to want to address that.
People that worked for him? People that know him personally?
“At then end of the day, all that matters is what Trump is pushing. The policies he is pushing are essentially Ronald Reaganâs platform.”
President Reagan would NEVER take the attitude that Mr. Trump has concerning the recent SCOTUS decision on forcing homosexual marriage on the states. Mr. Trump considers it to be a settled matter. That makes Mr. Trump forever unacceptable to me as a person to vote for in any election. I cannot support him in either a primary or general election. I will stay home or leave the ballot blank if Mr. Trump gets the GOP nomination.
Mr. Trump is, in my opinion, in no way remotely like President Reagan. A potential victory by Mr. Trump is - in my opinion - not a victory at all. There is more to an election than just beating Hillary Clinton.
Well, lets look at it this way.
At least he’s promising.
He at least has the high finance experience to be able to address how things could work. There isn’t another guy running who can honestly say they grasp high finance the way Trump and his advisers do.
He has been negotiating as part of his life for the last 40 years. Who else can say that in the world of high finance?
Who else is talking about a wall?
Who else is saying they’ll send the illegal home?
Who else got serious about the 14th Amendment and anchor babies?
Who brought up building back up the military and our veterans?
Who else wants to bring jobs back home, and knows how to do it? Who else plans on not only stopping the deficit spending, but actually paying down debt.
We have over 90 million able bodied people who want to work. That compares to roughly 140 million who are working. Think that would increase tax revenues? Think that would reduce our outlays for people sitting idle. Think that wouldn’t pump money into our infrastructure?
The guy is talking about things the other guys had no comprehension could be done.
The talk about the wall alone proves that. Most were complaining we didn’t need one or it was too costly. Trump says we do and tells us Mexico will foot the bill. Last year we gave close to $100 billion to Mexico.
Keep 10-20% of that, and build the wall.
He may not get it all done. I think he’ll work towards doing it.
He has top level financial men volunteering their time if he gets elected. Tell me one other guy that can say that?
I’ve seen people lie my whole lifetime, but I’ve never seen a guy go as all in on Conservatism as Trump has who was actually pretending. They slip up. It’s not in their heart. It IS in Trump’s heart.
Will everything go our way? No. Did it under Bush? Will it under Bush, Rubio, Fiorina, Carson, or Christie?
I’m all in for Trump.
Seriously?
Glenn Beck and the rest of the anti-Trumpers are going full-on retard now.
You are welcome to your opinion.
There isn’t a single thing any president can do to reverse what has already been decided regarding homosexual marriage et al.
It will have to come from a lower court and be revisited.
So use that for your excuse if you like. It can’t be the excuse, but if you wish to use it, go ahead.
Beck hates Trump. Sorry but anyone associated with the insane are rightly tainted by the same.
Has anybody actually read either of Trump’s two books about policy??? (Crippled or Time to Get Tough for those who need titles).
Trump os a business man and has been a more consistent conservative than Beck ever hoped to be
I think you're probably reading more into Ronald Reagan than would have really been there.
