He considered Newt a “progressive”. He promoted Santorum a lot. (I think he was a Bachmann supporter who moved to Santorum.)

I'm talking about after Bachmann dropped out and the race was, effectively, down to Santorum, Mitt, and Newt. He supported Mitt.

It may have been that he thought Mitt was the most electable but he did support him.
