Last week something really surprising happened. Dr. Ben Carson, the Neurosurgeon turned GOP presidential candidate, overtook Donald Trump in a CBS News poll by a margin of 26 percent to 22 percent. Not so surprising, is that Dr. Carson as the new frontrunner, has come under much more scrutiny and criticism than ever before. I particularly liked the comments by several bloggers who compared Carson to Chance the Gardener, a pitifully naive character played by Peter Sellers in the 1979 film, âBeing Thereâ.
Suddenly âBeing Thereâ has become relevant again, especially to those of us who have taken time to read and re-read the plethora of simple-minded statements made by Ben Carson. Whatâs scary, though, is that Crazy Carsonâs ideas are resonating with millions of uneducated and uniformed voters. Kanye West, for example, recently called Carson, âThe most brilliant guy.â Itâs Chauncey Gardener all over again.
Make no mistake. Just because someone speaks softly and slowly, doesnât make what comes out of his mouth brilliant. Like Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain before him, Carson has become the Republicanâs leading looney for this election cycle.
Need proof? Then just take a look at some of Dr. Benâs more notable nuggets.

The continuing Palinization of Carson.
Four years ago today, the Palinization of Herman Cain was beginning to pick up steam.
Not for long.
Trump’s time is past, soon Carson will be run out of town too. Who will be next in the barrel? Cruz or Rubio?
What uniform are they wearing?
The continuing Palinization of Carson.
That’s exactly what’s going on.
Just Carson following Obama's play book....
and I quote Obama:
"It was usually an effective tactic, another one of those tricks I had learned:
(White) People were satisfied so long as you were courteous and smiled and made no sudden moves.
They were more than satisfied, they were relieved -- such a pleasant surprise to find a well-mannered young man.

Homosexuality as a Choice
Carson told CNNâs Chris Cuomo that homosexuality is a choice âbecause a lot of people who go into prison, go into prison straight, and when they come out, theyâre gay.â
Anarchy
Carson told Foxâs Chris Wallace if we donât begin to deal with our problems now, that there might not be an election in 2016 because of widespread anarchy.
Affordable Care Act
At the 2013 Values Voters Summit, Carson said, âYou know Obamacare is the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery.â
Same Sex Marriage
Carson told Foxâs Sean Hannity that marriage is between a man and a woman, adding, âItâs a well established fundamental pillar of society, and no group, be they gays, or people who believe in bestiality... they donât get to change the definition.â
Nazis
Carson has implied on numerous occasions that Democrats and anyone who votes for Obama can be compared to Nazis. According to www.forwardprogressives.com, Carson once said, âMost of the people in Nazi Germany did not believe in what Hitler was doing, but did they speak up? Did they stand up for what they believe in? They did not, and you see what happened.â Carson has also said that âthe likelihood of Holocaust would have been greatly diminished if the people of Germany had been armed.â So let me get this straight. If German Jews had each been armed with a rifle, and spoke their beliefs, they could have defeated Hitlerâs army. Makes perfect sense.
Mass Shootings
Carson recently told CBS News that lives would have been saved if students at Umpqua Community College had been armed. Said Carson, âThe shooter can only shoot one person at a time. He cannot shoot a whole group of people...I would not just stand there and let him shoot me.â Interesting that Carson is a gun expert, yet obviously hasnât heard of magazines with multiple rounds of ammo. And I suppose every student who carries a gun will be cool under fire and can kill the attacker without hesitation and without harming others. In Carsonâs perfect world, Hitler could have been stopped if only there were community colleges in Nazi Germany.
AP Terrorism
Referring to an AP History course that teaches students about civil disobedience, Carson told an audience, âI think most people when they finish that course, theyâd be ready to go sign up for ISIS.â
In fairness to Dr. Carson, he has attempted to walk back some of his more ridiculous statements, but we need a President who thinks before he speaks.
We also need a President whose views and positions are based on science and a working knowledge of government and the law. We canât afford to have Chance the Gardener for our next President. !

Trump’ not going to be run out of town.
Seriously, the man is a brain surgeon. I don’t see him as POTUS, which is a step down (imho) from brain surgeon. But the Left sure finds him threatening, don’t they?
I don’t think they find him threatening. He’s an easy mark for ridicule, as is Trump. It’s all fun and games
until somebody gets an eye put out. ;)
The ONLY Chauncey Gardiner in the potential Presidential race would be.... the non-accomplished grifter (who is merely cleverly evil) Hillary and/or possibly Biden who is a mental case chosen for VP for just that reason. A sack of rocks, goofball.
Carson is a threat because he is far more than he seems, and scares the bejesus out of the leftie establishment and rino gop-e. If Carson comes out with true speaking abilities in front of crowds... speaking on his feet with intelligence and not.... softly, then look out. Just as Rubio’s credit card use is taking waaaaaay to much importance, it is obvious the string pullers want.....YEB! Who is crashing on his own as the designated loser... again. Not this time GOP-e. Go to Hell.
Ultimately they are scared far more of... Ted Cruz.
The hit pieces are coming out.
It is to laugh.
Bad comparison. Chance was simple, not looney tunes
We’re seeing just how looney more and more every day.
No this is the illumination of Carson. Sad but true. He is just not prepared to be President.
A bald faced lie disqualifies him. Trump I’ll like that.
