I would like to request your Prayers and thoughts for myself, and my family for the very unexpected passing of my wife.
Many of you have seen me refer to her as Mrs. Rikkir, but her name was Patsy. She was 55, and mother to one daughter, and Mee Maw to three grandsons.
She was a KY farm girl, who took a stupid NC city boy, and, 29 years ago, pulled him from a self destructive path, and instead gave him a path of love and responsibility.
She was universally loved by almost all who met her. I have fielded messages from hundreds (approx. 400) of people who essentially have said the same thing.
She "mothered" the young ones, and "sistered" the older ones.
We lived several places, and traveled the US as Professional Drivers (Pro Tourists), so the outpouring of love has been from all over the country.
She had some treated hypertension, and treated slight cholesterol increases. She had no other health issues except for being slightly overweight.
She complained Thursday of feeling like she might be coming down with a cold. Went to bed at 5:30 pm to get up in time for her 3rd shift job.
At 7:30 pm she was gone.
I don't go into all this detail for any other reason than to remind all to never waste a second. Don't ever forget to tell those important to you that they ARE! It's the one thing that has helped me more than anything else in this tragedy. We never left anything unsaid between us. We ALWAYS said "I Love You" before one of us left, or one of us went to sleep, and we meant it. We never went to sleep still angry at each other.
She left this place knowing how much I and her family and friends loved her, and for that I am thankful.
I felt it was important to let you, my FRiends know what happened, as I count all of you as friends even though we've never met. I have much more honest, and frank discussion here than I have with most that I see everyday.
Although Patsy wasn't a FReeper, she believed as we do, and laughed countless times at the brilliant Freeper humor.
At this time I ask for an arm to lean on, a shoulder to cry on, an ear to reminisce to, a Prayer for strength, and the continued hope and optimism from Free Republic that will propel me forward.

I am so sorry for the loss of your soul mate. What a shock it must have been for you to lose her so suddenly. Please know that here in my bed, in North Carolina, I am touched by your precious post . . and will pray that God will comfort you in the days and weeks ahead. You are not alone.
To: rikkir
Oh, my! So very sad.

Prayers up for you and the rest of the family. No one knows their time, and thankfully your parting was not without the expression of love so many never get a chance to exchange.
You will see her legacy in yourself, your progeny, and your friends, as everyone affects those around them.
I pray this brings you comfort, solace, and that strange warmth we feel when we know something would have brought joy to someone dear to us.
The Almighty has His plan, and the future will be revealed day by day. Remember to Thank Him for the blessings He has bestowed upon you, past and present, and let Him fill the gaps left in your life as He sees fit.

rikkir, I am so very sorry for the loss of your lovely wife. I know that now you are in a fog, and probably won’t remember a lot. Come back here later and read these again. It may help when things are quiet again.
I lost my 15 year old son suddenly last year. I know that when I am missing him a lot I ask Jesus to give him a hug for me. It helps a little.

rikkir———what to say? I pray the suddenness of Patsy’s passing can be explained and accepted. The love you had for each other is still there, and she is always beside you in spirit. I hope she gives you strength now, as she did in life. A very difficult time for you, but we are here for you, FReeperFRiend.

Prayers for you and family. What a tragic loss, so unexpected at such a young age.
To: All
Once again I thank all of you for the kind words of support, and Prayer.
It is why I consider Free Republic one of the most important places in my daily life. The people here are treasures.
I wish I could take the time to express my gratitude to each of you individually, and I may in the days and weeks to come.
In the interim, please know that your caring words have touched me deeply.

"Your Grace Finds Me"It's there in the newborn cry
There in the light of every sunrise
There in the shadows of this life
Your great grace It's there on the mountain top
There in the everyday and the mundane
There in the sorrow and the dancing
Your great grace
Oh such grace...
From the creation to the cross
There from the cross into eternity
Your grace finds me, yes Your grace finds me
It's there on a wedding day
There in the weeping by the graveside
There in the very breath we breathe
Your great grace
The same for the rich and poor
The same for the saint and for the sinner
Enough for this whole wide world
Your great grace
Oh such grace
There in the darkest night of the soul
There in the sweetest songs of victory
Your grace finds me
Yes Your grace finds me
Your great grace
Oh such grace
Your great grace
Oh such grace
So I'm breathing in Your grace
And breathing out Your praise
I'm breathing in Your grace
Forever I'll be
Your grace finds me
Yes Your grace finds me

One Last Kiss
I have fought the feelings
And emotions inside
That fills and empties me,
Like a fast rolling tide
There are moments of pain
Of sorrow and hate
Leaving me to ponder.
Many hours of late
I love you honey.
It's your presence I miss.
And I terribly long
For that one last kiss
But the greatest pain of all
That hurts me so deep,
Is after giving you my love
I can't have yours to keep
To have you by my side
Always longing for more,
And have you feel the same,
To mutually adore
You see my love; I have given you my heart
And revealed the depths of my soul
And now I am left feeling hopelessly empty,
Paying this immeasurable toll.
It's selfish I know
to feel this way
But it's how I feel,
each and every day
Always hoping and praying
For the next time we meet
For you to allow me, once again
To feel complete
And rest assured
I WILL see you again
For it's not a question of if
But a question of when.
And when that time comes
I'll be in total bliss
For no longer will I wait
For that one last kiss.

In this world, tremendous loss is the risk we take when we accept tremendous blessing.
Give thanks to our Father in heaven, for through His grace the blessing is evermore, the loss temporal.
Stay strong, I'll be praying for you.
To: rikkir
So sorry for your unexpected loss. Prayers.

My sincere condolences for your loss. My heart aches for you.
Your journey forward from here will be a difficult one; probably the most difficult you will face in your life. Things will never be the same. You will have to find a new ‘normal’.
Lord, grant this man the strength to come to grips with his loss and provide him with the comfort and peace only You can provide, in Jesus’ name.
