What if U.S. citizens could drive...to Asia? A new proposal from Russia would see the country connected to the U.S. by highway bridge as part of a massive superhighway crossing the length of Russia, ultimately linking New York and London.
Called the Trans-Eurasian Belt Development (TEPR). the ambitious project was proposed by Russian Railways head Vladimir Yakunin earlier this month, according to CNN.
The route would include some pre-existing roads to reach London and New York, but would still require thousands of miles of tarmac across the width of Russia. This would be laid alongside the existing Trans-Siberian Railwaythe longest railway in the world.

“OK then, I’ve always wanted to figure out women. How they think and why. If I could understand women, I’d be better at interacting with them more successfully. I wish to understand how women think.”
“Fine. Two lanes, or four?”
In the 19709s, the USSR built a huge superhighway into Afghanistan.
Then they used it for an invasion route.

This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility, Obama implored. We should continue to be working on this issue at the technical level; that there are steps that can be taken on both sides to gain better understanding of the US and Russian, he added.
I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir, Medvedev responded, referring to the soon to be Russian President Vladimir Putin.
How much does it cost to build a road in Russia? Six times as much as it does in the United States, according to a recent study by Russian news agency Ria Novosti on comparitive rates in Moscow, the EU, the US and China.
The report noted that China has the cheapest cost, at about $1.3m per mile, with the US and the EU coming in at between $3.6m and $4.2m. In Russia it costs around $10.5m a mile. And in Moscow it can cost a massive $31m, according to an official at the Russian Transport Ministry.
