I hope you all had a nice Sunday. After church I took my Gram to lunch and then shopping. She helped me pick out silk flowers, so I can make a few bouquets for our Open House next Sunday. I pray that someone who comes to that event, will want to buy our place.
Cheers to All!

Thank you! This open house will be our best chance to get a buyer. When we sold our first house 20 years ago, the buyer had been at our open house.

Hi friends... just a quick check in .. due to being off grid only get to wifi infrequently.. most places I can’t get to on phone but FB seems to be one of the places I can go and I do keep up with many of your there. Life is busy. Back in work force as of 11/14 after decades of taking care of mom. Of course the pay stinks(for all the employers know, I was sitting in jail 20 years) but now I have more confidence and hope to find something with a better wage but KNOW the job market is terrible and when you are pushing 70, well, not promising I do enjoy working at hotel. Many perks above the pay.
Josy died in January and Toby is ailing. still do mostly natural health and healing.. avoid doctors and meds when I can - which is most of time
Lots of ups and downs. Maybe someday my life will return to some normalcy and I can again visit daily.. for now I’ll read some of the thread while I have a few minutes at hotel and catch up
hugs/love ... dolly

I know, but by next Sunday my garden won’t have many flowers. I made fresh arrangements for 3 showings so far. If the silk doesn’t look really great, I will have to buy fresh.
I still have 5 big pots of mums that will be at the front of the house, nice bright yellow ones. 2 of the pots are so big you can hardly move them,3 are 12 inch pots that are not as heavy.
We had some good bakery chocolate chip cookies for our last potential buyers. That was a nice touch that we will do again next Sunday. I don’t bake them anymore since I am allergic to the ingredients, but the bakery does a nice job on them.
I want to get to our new house so badly. I’d love to be there for Christmas.

Oatmeal raisin will please the “crunchy crowd”, and since they seem to be the ones with money, they might get you a buyer!

Waiting for an Answer
Oct 19, 2015
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 9:10
When our daughter was 15, she ran away. She was gone more than 3 weeks. Those were the longest 3 weeks of our lives. We looked everywhere for her and sought help from law enforcement and friends. During those desperate days, my wife and I learned the importance of waiting on God in prayer. We had come to the end of our strength and resources. We had to rely on God.
It was on a Fathers Day that we found her. We were in a restaurant parking lot, on our way to dinner, when the phone rang. A waitress at another restaurant had spotted her. Our daughter was only three blocks away. We soon had her home, safe and sound.
We have to wait on God when we pray. We may not know how or when He will answer, but we can put our hearts constantly before Him in prayer. Sometimes the answers to our prayers dont come when we would hope. Things may even go from bad to worse. But we have to persevere, keep believing, and keep asking.
Waiting is never easy, but the end result, whatever it is, will be worth it. David put it this way: Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you (Ps. 9:10). Keep seeking. Keep trusting. Keep asking. Keep praying.
Whats on your heart that you need to talk to God about today? Will you trust Him and keep praying?
James Banks is an author who has written several books, including Prayers for Prodigals.
Time spent in prayer is always time well spent.
Psalm 9 is a song of David that captures the stress and pressure he was under at the time he composed it. While we are not given the specific incidents that triggered the writing of these words, we can feel the heat of the trials he was experiencing. In the first section of the song (vv. 1-12), David is praising God for His rescue and protection. These are words of faith directed to the listener of the song. The second half of the psalm (vv. 13-20), however, shows a heart filled with fear and speaks directly to God Himself. Bill Crowder

Bear In There
There's a Polar Bear
In our Frigidaire--
He likes it 'cause it's cold in there.
With his seat in the meat
And his face in the fish
And his big hairy paws
In the buttery dish,
He's nibbling the noodles,
He's munching the rice,
He's slurping the soda,
He's licking the ice.
And he lets out a roar
If you open the door.
And it gives me a scare
To know he's in there--
That Polary Bear
In our Fridgitydaire.

An Inside View
Oct 20, 2015
The Lord looks at the heart.
1 Samuel 16:7
Retired physicist Arie vant Riet creates works of art in an unusual way. He arranges plants and deceased animals in various compositions and then x-rays them. He scans the developed x-rays into a computer and then adds color to certain parts of his pictures. His artwork reveals the inner complexity of flowers, fish, birds, reptiles, and monkeys.
An inside view of something is often more fascinating and more significant than an exterior view. At first glance, Samuel thought Eliab looked like he could be Israels next king (1 Sam. 16:6). But God warned Samuel not to look at Eliabs physical traits. He told Samuel, People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart (v. 7). God chose David, instead of Eliab, to be Israels next king.
When God looks at us, He is more interested in our hearts than our height, the state of our soul than the structure of our face. He doesnt see us as too old, too young, too small, or too big. He zeroes in on the things that matterour response to His love for us and our concern for other people (Matt. 22:37-39). Second Chronicles 6:30 says that God alone knows the human heart. When the God who has done so much for us looks at our heart, what does He see?
Dear God, help me to value what You value. As I follow Your example, I pray that You will be pleased with what You see in my heart.
The true measure of a person is whats in the heart.
David is often used as an example of the best and the worst of human behavior. Even though his sins are recorded in the pages of Scripture, the final verdict on his life is that he was a man after Gods own heart (1 Sam. 13:14; Acts 13:22). What we often miss is the reason that he is given this high acclaim. Davids nearness to the heart of God is reflected most by his repentance after he sinned. Acknowledging that Gods way is right (exemplified in the act of repentance) is the clearest demonstration of love for Him. J.R. Hudberg
