Drill, baby drill, applies to Mars also.

We should experiment here on the technology of distillation of water this salty.

Probably a multi-stage distillation.

Correction: It is noxious brine that only Chuck Norris could drink. (Stupid spell check.)

“The average temperature on Mars in MINUS 67F”

The answer’s in you’re own post. Hint: It’s the seven lettered word, beginning with ‘a’ and ending with ‘e’.

The water is highly saline. Ocean water, like the Pacific, would be more potable.

They don't know if it's water, salty water or something else. They're only saying the gullies look like something liquid flowed there. They haven't actually sampled it or anything like that.

Of course this could only be proof that there was once Life on mars. Not proof that it is just emerging now......

This is not new. Where did they think the polar ice caps came from in certain seasons? There had to be flowable water to form the ice caps. This is just more NASA propaganda to insure future spending.

I think this now opens the strong possibility of at least primitive microbial life as little as 100 mm below the surface--and the ExoMars rover might be able to find it because it can supposedly drill up to 2,000 mm into the Martian soil.
