Carly Fiorina clearly said in the debate last night that in the Planned Parenthood videos the viewers can see a baby on the table, its heart beating, and people talking about cutting it open to harvest its brain.
"Anyone who has watched this video tape, I dare Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, to watch these tapes. Watch a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain," Fiorina said.
In reality, those videos were of the participants in those horrendous abortion and harvesting incidents. They were recounting their experiences. While there is a video of a baby on a table, that was not the baby in question, but is an insertion by the Center for Medical Progress. Other of the videos were based on catching the PP leadership discussing harvesting, pricing, selling, etc.
There were ZERO live shots of abortion harvesting procedures.
Carly Fiorina NEVER saw that baby in question on any table.
How will this hurt the PP debate?
It opens it to the charge of emotionalism for effect and to charges of hearsay evidence because of her misrepresentation. People will go to see, as she has suggested, and then they'll discover they cannot see because she has misrepresented.
She did it for effect. But, she was misguided.
PP will have to watch the videos to see for themselves.
Good point, I was focused on the video claim, but the use of ‘fetus’ is troubling.

“This is the most gestated fetus and closest thing to a baby I’ve ever seen,” Holly O’Donnell, a former procurement technician for StemExpress, said in the video. “I’m sitting here looking at this fetus and its heart is beating and I don’t know what to do.”

The clip does show what appears to be a fully formed fetus on an operating table with its legs twitching. But the clip Fiorina references is not part of the CMP sting video but was instead taken by another anti-abortion group and was added to the sting video. The Center for Medical Progress, however, doesn’t explain where the fetus video was shot, so it’s not clear whether it was taken at a Planned Parenthood clinic. For its part, the women’s health organization has flatly denied the accusations.

Its amazing that some of you people criticize Carly for her anti abortion stance when she is accurate on the substance.
Yet not think twice about following a phony New York closet liberal carnival barker.
Its no surprise we lost two election to a amateur Kenyan communist.
That is discouraging to hear. Yet I think it remains on Ted to manage his own messaging, which he is entirely capable of doing. I am hoping to see him pivot toward the media's trivializing the process as so blatantly illustrated in both debates.
And I believe he has the skill to do that w/o appearing to be whining.
With the campaign, thus far, being more about sound and fury than substance, he needs to weigh in with something to compel attention.
Technically she was incorrect. But factually she was not. The fact of the matter is that Planned Parenthood does deliver fully formed babies and uses them to harvest body parts for profit.
The fact that Fiorina didn't actually see what she said she saw in that video does not change the fact that what she said she saw didn't happen exactly as she said.
A fully formed baby was dissected while alive in order to take it's brain.
Let's see the MSM spin that.
My only issue with Fiorina was that she called it a fetus instead of a baby. That troubles me.

Oh certainly - you and I agree on that. I was giving a theory based on some inside baseball information I had, NOT NOT NOT exonerating Ted from this. In fact, there is no excuse for hiring this guy, let alone listening to him. Ted's instincts are FAR BETTER to this guy's instincts.
Then again, this is just a theory. I have not, and never would, say I know it to be a fact. That is, unless I get some inside confirmation - which is possible but not likely.

How do they spin it? They don’t go to the PP videos, but use her misrepresentation to discredit them in the minds of their large viewing audience.

Was there not a discussion while that baby was shown dying on the table about dissecting a baby's brain while it was alive?
Are not those the facts?

This is what goes on in PP facilities every day. That was the point.
What they did was use stock footage of a dying baby on a table and interject it into the video while they were discussing what the woman did to such a baby.
The more the MSM talks about the video, the better it is for the pro-life movement. They don't want to talk about the video. They want to MOVE ON.
This will be off their radar screen before the day is over. They'll find some other way to discredit her. Just calling her an anti-abortion fanatic should do the trick.
How have they tried to discredit the videos up to this point?
