Donald Trump is taking a lot of heat from people who would like to see him support the dear lady, Kim Davis, in Kentucky. Those same people, if they think about it are asking him to commit political suicide. Trump is right, for now. Sorry. Everyone, and I include myself, is disappointed, but not surprised that 4 liberal justices and one who has always been sympathetic to the 'queer class' decided that homosexuals are a minority and deserve the protection of law and equal rights. They have also ruled that the crucial parts of the 'Defense of Marriage Act' are unconstitutional. Deal with it like adults fellas. The lady in Kentucky has every right to 'civil disobedience', if that's what it is. Others say that she is the only one actually obeying the law. In other words there is no Kentucky Statute authorizing her to give a license to a homosexual couple. She may be right on that, but it will be a long slog through the courts to prove it, by which time the election will be decided. Civil disobedience on a massive scale however would not reverse the legal process. The only way that marriage will ever be legally defined as 'between a man and a woman' in the country again would be through an amendment to the constitution, which is not going to happen when you consider the demographics, the support for and promotion of LGBT in the media and educational system, and the Federal bureaucracy. Or, perhaps, a few states could try seceding again. Donald is smart. He wants to get elected. We can't be dumb enough to ask him to die for what is, unfortunately, a lost cause. The problem here is that absolute moral judgements, not backed by the authority of divinity are just strong opinions. And, in the court of public opinion and in the court of law the opinion that gays should be denied marriage benefits has lost; and we no longer have a majority of people in this country who are committed to the absolute authority of the God revealed in the Bible. If you want to turn this country around in a moral sense... get off of Trump and get on your knees. In the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley is a Bible that he treasured and got from his mother. In it's glass case the book is opened and verses are underlined... they read... "...if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chron 7:14
The situation is sad but what it is.. Trump is correct.
Because Trump is a blank slate that everyone thinks is like them, when the truth is he is abject idiot.
Fine please let me know when you are organizing and leading your first Christian Riot. I will try to make it.
If Trump said that, he’s wrong and he’s just aborted his own meteoric rise. He could have tried to split the difference and said she needn’t do it but then she ought to quit. But this is fascistic and if he doesn’t recalibrate his tuning tout suite, he’s mortally hurt now.
On the other hand, can Cruz get enough support through this new issue to propel into viability. Maybe he can.
But Kim Davis is obeying the law.
And I don't mean the law of God (though she's obeying that too). I mean the Kentucky State Constitution.
Exactly. What can the gov't do? Make your life a nightmare? Put you in jail? Kill you? But whatever they do, you will be right!
Our hero Ted Cruz is right in there
Now, to what real effect other than talk- talk remains to be seen
Trump and the rest of them cannot and should not be dragged into the weeds on every individual news story
Not only are they helpless to do nothing but the media will set them up
Onward
The world is in the bank of war
The economy is failing
Then you should read the formatted version supplied by ‘yokel’. I respect your opinion, but you havent’ fully considered the other point of view.
To me, the real appeal of Trump so far has been that he has not been careful to ‘pick the right battle’.
If he has a strong opinion about this case, he should voice it.
FDR bullied the court into not striking down his National Labor Relations Act, by threatening to add justices. Why couldn’t the next GOP president do the same? This current court has invented a civil right out of thin air...and it is now trumping this woman’s 1st amendment rights...a right clearly spelled out in the constitution. They deserve to be bullied.
Screw that! It’s time for patriots to unite. This is evil and dangerous. Stand up or get out of the way.
When it comes to a real fight, Trump takes a pass.
We now begin to see what he’s really made of.
He is saying right now he is going to take this stand until he learns more about it....are you a lawyer that works in this field? I'm not...
There are alot of issues a ‘non politician’ has to learn in a few short months before taking a stand on something...
I for one, am going to support Trump on this issue, right now...I don't all the laws of the land and I'm sure you don't either, hell half our Senators and House Representatives don't know it all, so how do you justify saying this about Trump?
I don't like her being put in jail, but do you and I know all the laws of Kentucky? I don't even know all the laws of the State I live in...
Learn before you speak...is what Trump is saying...
That attitude didn’t work out too well for the first Catherine of Aragon either did it?
Can you imagine what they would say about the Apostle Paul who did not outright condemn slavery?
Not everyone who fought for the colonies in the Revolutionary War survived.
Bigger issues sometimes dominate our lives and we can’t just live for our own momentary pleasures.
A Christian is in prison for being a Christian and you say this isn’t worth it?
Trump is not taking Kim’s side because he is on the pro-homosexual side. He is a closet liberal and this proves it.
Thank you, sir. You just did.
Much appreciated.
