Trump is right not taking on the Kim Davis Issue
Vanity | 9/3/2015 | Dr. James Schulze, D.Min. (PEARUSA)

Posted on 09/04/2015 7:10:11 AM PDT by theoldmarine

Donald Trump is taking a lot of heat from people who would like to see him support the dear lady, Kim Davis, in Kentucky. Those same people, if they think about it are asking him to commit political suicide. Trump is right, for now. Sorry. Everyone, and I include myself, is disappointed, but not surprised that 4 liberal justices and one who has always been sympathetic to the 'queer class' decided that homosexuals are a minority and deserve the protection of law and equal rights. They have also ruled that the crucial parts of the 'Defense of Marriage Act' are unconstitutional. Deal with it like adults fellas. The lady in Kentucky has every right to 'civil disobedience', if that's what it is. Others say that she is the only one actually obeying the law. In other words there is no Kentucky Statute authorizing her to give a license to a homosexual couple. She may be right on that, but it will be a long slog through the courts to prove it, by which time the election will be decided. Civil disobedience on a massive scale however would not reverse the legal process. The only way that marriage will ever be legally defined as 'between a man and a woman' in the country again would be through an amendment to the constitution, which is not going to happen when you consider the demographics, the support for and promotion of LGBT in the media and educational system, and the Federal bureaucracy. Or, perhaps, a few states could try seceding again. Donald is smart. He wants to get elected. We can't be dumb enough to ask him to die for what is, unfortunately, a lost cause. The problem here is that absolute moral judgements, not backed by the authority of divinity are just strong opinions. And, in the court of public opinion and in the court of law the opinion that gays should be denied marriage benefits has lost; and we no longer have a majority of people in this country who are committed to the absolute authority of the God revealed in the Bible. If you want to turn this country around in a moral sense... get off of Trump and get on your knees. In the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley is a Bible that he treasured and got from his mother. In it's glass case the book is opened and verses are underlined... they read... "...if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chron 7:14

“Let’s be patient and hear what Trump’s lawyers say about the situation. At this point, can’t we all agree that it’s disgusting that this woman was taken away in shackles and jailed for adherence to her Christian beliefs?”

From what I read of the Kentucky law (402.005 Definition of marriage), she did not break the law. She was going by a law that was never vacated and states that marriage is between “one (1) man and one (1) woman”.

The economy is failing

True. If the rate goes up, it will trigger a two year bubble, and then the economy will crash hard.
Without and increase, the economy will crash now.
Either way, we're in big trouble. Who's going to pay for all those democrats social programs now that the Democrats have run out of other peoples money??? What happens when the democrats can no longer steal for their base? The base will have to start stealing for itself!

Still, Moronsky, ya gotta give him credit for being able to use pronouns.

What, you some kind of Leftist agitator?

Did I say we should have “Christian Riots”? Did I?

I said mass civil disobedience - not a riot if you buy the lexicon of the last 50 years - and DEMONSTRATE to the phony powers that be that they have gone too far.

There is no “Right” to homosexual marriage. It was fabricated out of whole cloth by diseased schemers who went to law school.

Mass demonstrations replete with the lawful refusal to go along with a phony “decision” is not a riot and it’s disgusting of you to insinuate it.

Thanks for the clarification lacrew, it seems I was a bit uninformed.

How does one twisted, made up “right” trump another right?

I stand with Cruz.

Me too. The lucky people who got to vote on this issue (who were "allowed" to vote by their masters) voted no to homo pseudo "marriage" (overwhelmingly).
Let those votes be counted. And let the rest of the states make their decision on the matter as well.

Why are the democrats and judicial activists afraid to have a vote on this issue? They'd LOSE! Homo tolerance is a lie. There's no such thing. It's a left wing fairytale forced on the American people through intimidation and litigation.

Maybe Trump would get the picture if by SCOTUS ruling he should have to give up his wealth to some particular "group" just because of some activists judges deciding it should be so. Let's say ... for the sake of Social Justice perhaps...reparatons for oppression of the black population....would he? Does he think he is immune from this kind tyrannical practice that has recently taken place and has further empowered an activist tyranical judiciary? Does he not know what tyranny is? Maybe a little refresher on where our country came from would help?

Trump is not taking Kim’s side because he is on the pro-homosexual side. He is a closet liberal and this proves it.

Yep. Right up until he decided he was going to make a serious run for the presidency. He was a major Hillary(Marxism) supporter.

All I can agree with him on is immigration. Everything else is far left - very late term abortion, single payer health care (a complete take over), higher taxes on the 1%, and the recent homo fetish legislation.

"Buy his fruits ye will know him." Never mind what he's saying. Look at what he's DONE!
(Actions always speak louder than words)

There's no evidence at all that Trump has ever been or ever will be a fiscal or social conservative. Unless he's been struck by lightning and had a near death experience recently, Trump will always be a conservatives worst nightmare!

“The way the Germans did between 1933 and 1945.”

That’s exactly what the majority of this country has been doing, ignoring things until a law hits their particular button.

Where was the outrage at banning three wheelers? Or pre-1988 Suzukis? Or laws against smokers? Or seat belt laws? Or helmet laws? Or abortion clinics? I could go on and on.

Conservatives where right there with everyone else agreeing that three wheelers and suzukis were dangerous. Smoking is bad for your health.

Government control is fine with everyone as long as it doesn’t step on your toes on your issue. Don’t lecture me, I have been fighting it since the ‘70’s. And watched in amazement at what is passed with the full support of conservatives.

Now is a little late to complain. This country was founded on laws, it can only survive by laws. Now that you finally have laws you don’t agree with, you are ready to insist that people support disobeying that law, but apparently not on board with electing people who might change them.

Kim Harris should have resigned, gone to the media and the courts to fight this law, not advocate disobeying the law and saying poor me, it’s against my belief. What about all the other clerks across the nation? How has she helped them? She is essentially saying you can’t do anything about it except go to jail.

Agree.

Eyes wide open, the Trump movement has something that the Right has not had in a very long time ... The support of young people!

Who Trump surrounds himself with has a lot of bearing on his positions. I am in a similar situation.

Like I said, if people will only tell you what they think when you ‘pull them aside in private’ we have already lost that battle in the court of public opinion. I hate that its that way, but that’s the way it is.

You remind me of the Germans who stood by and did what the Nazi's told them to.

Please reconsider your stance against Kim Davis, Ted Cruz and even Jim Robinson.....

I could get p**sed at you. I am a disabled Vietnam Vet who risked his life for the liberty of the Vietnamese people and the other cold war dominoes. You can put your insult in the empty space in your skull or as Trump says ‘wherever’!

I am more against homo marriage than anyone on this forum or FR as a whole, even the almighty Jim Robinson hisself!

I stand by my position that Kim Davis case is the wrong battlefield for Trump to engage on right now. That is a political calculation not a moral position. As someone once insulted me, I will say to you... if you can’t unnerstand that I can’t explain it to you. You can all disagree with my political calculation or opinion, but keep your opinions about my patriotism and morality and courage to yourself.. By the way, I served as a Christian missionary in Uganda and Rwanda in postwar primitive conditions actually preaching the Gospel, making disciples, healing the sick, and casting out devils. Not bragging just exposing what a knee jerk, with the emphasis on jerk, your opinions or impressions about me are. Good-day
