Welcome To Fantasy Island! An advance man points up as Trump's "plane" lands: The Plane! The Plane!

"Welcome to Fantasy Island!"

Wherever Trump's "plane" lands, that area becomes known (albeit temporarily) as "Fantasy Island," and an advance man for Trump points upward when Trump's "plane" is about to land and says, "The plane! The plane!"

On [Trump's] Fantasy Island, everything is either false, an illusion, or is grounded in smoke and mirrors at best:

[My favorites are #'s 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10]

1.) On Trump's Fantasy Island, Trump never repeats his talking points ad nauseam.

2.) On Trump's Fantasy Island, Ann Coulter speaks at a Trump rally and magically becomes a conservative!

3.) On Trump's Fantasy Island, China and Mexico are stealing our jobs, except if these specific countries happen to make a Trump product that will be pumped back into the U.S. - and then they aren't stealing our jobs!!!

4.) On Trump's Fantasy Island, Oreo's made in other countries are bad, but if Trump ties are made in another country then those ties are good!

5.) On Trump's Fantasy Island, Trump's evolution to conservatism is just as valid as Reagan's because Trump didn't prove this through serving two terms as governor and after that from 1975 to 1980!

6.) On Trump's Fantasy Island, Trump talks about every poll, even the ones that are not so good in his favor.

7.) On Trump's Fantasy Island, all liberal news outlets and their polls are now suddenly trustworthy, even though these news outlets have been eviscerated for years by Talk Radio hosts!

8.) On Trump's Fantasy Island, Morning Joe isn't shilling for The Donald.

9.) On Trump's Fantasy Island, there are more unnamed people wanting to give this or that ($$$?) to Trump, support this or that, etcetera, etcetera, than the New York Times has unnamed sources.

10.) On Trump's Fantasy Island, The Donald didn't "blink" when it came to Univision's Jorge Ramos...

You missed one important point. On Fantasy Island, the fantasies were realized.

You’re talking to a bunch of idiots.

Does anyone here know Jim Robinson’s take on Trump?

I’m wondering if we’ll see another purge where those who don’t get behind Trump get banned.

"Does anyone here know Jim Robinson’s take on Trump?"

Last time I looked, he was applauding his campaign.

Look, wherever it goes from here, Trump has already demonstrated that the fear of not being "politically correct," is ridiculous. He is defying those who would stifle free inquiry into the issues, and demonstrating that one can have fun doing so. He has already made it much more difficult for the Left to put their intimidation genie back into the bottle.

“this obsession with trashing Trump”

Wow, who is deranged now?

Browse the list of articles and every third one is a PRO-Trump thread and it’s been this way for weeks.

But that’s not enough for you, noooooo sir. If even one thread that is critical of Trump slips through, you’ve got to wade in with your flamethrower.

Trump can use his OWN money and his OWN plane...

And stay at his own resorts.

What is rather astounding for me at least, is that Trump undoubtedly has grown up around some pretty tough characters, and let’s face it, the fast lane as an eligible batchelor, but no one is coming out of the closet to tells stories about off color jokes, date rape victims, lewd behavior etc. He seems like the all American boy scout next door.

Reagan was thought to be someone different than his persona. Someone not smart, just an actor etc. When he got into the public arena in the debates first with Bush then Carter, people warmed up to him.

I’m really fascinated at the way Trump handles himself. He is the most focused person I’ve ever scene at a press conference short of someone like Kennedy or Reagan.

Probably. But at this point, I really don’t care. I liked this site because there were posters from all over the world who were faster than anybody about posting something that might be of concern to conservatives.

There have always been arguments between people here, which is not a bad thing and shows that democracy works. And every election, there’s some populist, no-experience candidate that takes the lead with vocal people here - and then crashes and burns.

Some people recover from the collapse of their hero and pick another candidate, and some don’t.

I think in this case the difference is that there’s a lot of money behind Trump. His own money, since he’s pledged to spend a billion dollars of his own money to get elected...and I wouldn’t be in the least surprised if some of these attacks were not bought and paid for by Trump.

Its not Trump that is being trashed.

Its the trumpets here, that are so devoid of understanding of what a proper president has to be that are being trashed, and rightfully so.

These people are really able to vote, and that is troubling.

Only by a very small handful of idiots.

Reagan had a solid record from his radio programs. Anyone that had heard any of his broadcasts held him in high esteem.

Trump has a battery of lawyers and can sue anyone he pleases in an instant. He's vindictive. He can cause you great expense for as long as he wants win or lose.

Is there really any doubt why people don't speak up?

The real fantasy is thinking anyone else has a chance to win the general election.

uh, they don’t. The dems can put up a goofball like Biden, Warren, Hillary, or Bernie.

Those slugs will end up winning against the so called “deep bench” we have.

Why? Because our side will not get a turnout fron our own voters. Nobody is interested in amnesty pushers and those that aren’t firm on illegal immigration.

“Only by a very small handful of idiots”

Someone posted here the articles by people like George Will and many others, including major papers, that were very critical of Reagan early on. He was virtually unknown outside of California in 1976. No one took him seriously. His reputation was much like Trump’s of being a hot head and war monger. I think he lost the first couple primaries but kicked Bush’s tail after that. By the time he debated Carter I think he was several points down wasn’t he? Then people warmed up to him.

Trump is an entirely different animal, and I sense that many here, and probably rightfully so, are still very skeptical of him. For me, he’s pushing all the right buttons, and I expect the economy, more features on immigrant crime, plus something major happening in the world with China, Iran or N. Korea that will push people from all walks of life to want the man for president.

If this man had a habit of telling racial or sexist jokes, fondled women in his employ, had some gambling or other vice we’d be hearing about it.

I’m not saying he was an angel, but it’s amazing that so far he’s alot more conservative in his personal life, (non smoker, non drinker, married three times, but apparently faithful while married), than what you’d think.

The other thing is, he is a product of TV and other media. There is a ton of stuff out there on him.

For example, he appears as an expert in a number of documentaries where he appears as an expert on this or that subject, or getting dunked for a Lou Gehrig’s challenge, or a playboy interview, or WWF Hall of Fame thingy. I mean the guy is one of a kind.

George will has always been critical of conservatives, and patriots.

Honesty has never been one of his virtues.

>> “He was virtually unknown outside of California in 1976.” <<

Are you very young?

Ron Reagan gave the keynote address at the 1964 Republican convention. He was the most popular Republican in the country, and everyone was wishing he could have been the candidate.

I don’t know where you get your stuff, but it is all bunk.

He was well known among republicans, but the REagan democrats came out and voted for him in droves. He was not their man back then. In fact, he was kicked off the ticket for Ford, in 76 so he wasn’t the party’s choice. They took that idiot Ford over him when he was clearly the best man for the job. We endured 4 years. 4 of Carter that could have been a great 4 years for our country and the world.

IF everyone wanted him to be the party nominee then why wasn’t he in 1976? I think you’re the one full of it, my friend.
