I almost posted that about Geraldo- but thought would be crass on Sunkenciv thread. LOL

I like Sunkenciv threads so much, i try to be careful what I post with my warped sense of humor.

:’) Plus, ya never know what’s gonna set me off. ;’)

A FReeper (and former Globester, which is where I “met” her) did just that joke over on FB, same context. Don’t worry, I can take it. ;’)

Reeves includes a bit of an interview with Dorothy Eady, a.k.a. Omm Sety, an English eccentric and Egyptologist who was sure she’d lived in Egypt in a past life.

That’s not the weird part.

She also purported to converse with a sort of spirit guide, the Pharaoh Seti himself I suppose, who told her where Nefertiti’s tomb was waiting, undisturbed, but that the d ead Egyptians wanted to keep it hidden. So, she didn’t say where it was, just that it was very close to Tut’s but in a place where no one would think to look.

Nice old lady, but I believe she also drank too much. And she seems to have had a slight hatred of Jews. The reincarnation angle doesn’t bump me at all.

“Now, about the tomb of Nefertiti,” [Omm Sety] continued,
sounding a bit hesitant. “I did once ask His Majesty where it was, and he told me. He said, ‘Why do you want to know?’ I said I would like to have it excavated, and he said, ‘No, you must not. We don’t want anything more of this family known.’ But he did tell me where it was, and I can tell you this much. It’s in the Valley of the Kings, and it’s quite near to the Tutankhamun tomb. But it’s in a place where nobody would ever think of looking for it,” she laughed. “And apparently it is still intact …” – el Zeini and Dees 2007, 265-266

I thought they’d already concluded that another mummy was Ikhnaton. KV55 iirc? The one that Velikovsky theorized was Smenkhare’s?

Thanks. Have a nephew with a degree in archeology. The link will make it much easier to send it to him.

So what was she doing back there? Has she been questioned?

There’s a lesson to be learned from Geraldo’s fiasco...

“Don’t count your treasure before you dig”

And you’re right...Civ’s threads are great!

Well the Egyptian civilization was a prominent “world power” from about 3,000 BC to about 300 B.C. It was some what Hellenized by the Greeks and later the Romans. But still it remained one of the great civilization. Sadly that all came to an end when the Muslims conquered Egypt around 800 AD. It’s been all down hill since then. The middle east was the jewel of the ancient world, wealthy, educated, cultured and civilized. (Constantine moved the capital of Rome to Constantinople 300 AD ish) Now look at the middle east, it’s a hell hole. Islam did that.

I know it's a few days early, but I doubt that we'll top this over the next few days, so I'm moving up Saturday's digest ping.

I’m getting rid of all my furniture. All of it. And I’m going to build these different levels, with steps, and it’ll all be carpeted with a lot of pillows. You know, like ancient Egypt.

It’s one of the great injustices of history that these relics aren’t located in First World countries. Had King Tut’s tomb been located in the Mid West instead of the Mid East, they would have been fully explored long before now.

I often wondered if they’d thoroughly searched Tut’s tomb for hidden rooms or passages. The new scanning capabilities may shed light on many more tombs in the Valley of the Kings.
