It’s one of the great injustices of history that these relics aren’t located in First World countries. Had King Tut’s tomb been located in the Mid West instead of the Mid East, they would have been fully explored long before now.

Well, plenty of Moundbuilder sites have been ruined or cleared here in North America but the first nail in the coffin was Hrdlicka, who “outlawed” and delegitimized the search for PreColumbian contact; another was the goofy idea that the antiquity of humans in the Americas only went back perhaps 3000 years; the next one was Clovis-first-and-only; the most recent nail was NAGPRA.
