Is anyone near any of the many fires in CA? I am in Sonoma County and there is a a steady stream of emergency aircraft flying. There are over 70 lightening fires in Humboldt county and a dozen in Mendocino County. Looking at the state wide map there are over 25 major fires. We have been hazed over for 2 days from the smoke from the Rocky Fire near Clearlake that has consumed 25000 acres in a little over 3 days. I understand some of the fires in Mendocino and Lake County may be arson.
After seeing the maps today, a better question might be who isn’t near one.
Not near there, but one of our local Forest Service firefighters, David Ruhl, died fighting the fire on Thursday. Very sad. He was a great guy and friend of my husband, who is a retired Forest Service firefighter.
They’re west of the Hudson, and therefore don’t exist.
I’m sorry to hear that.

Ashes Fall From the Sky All Around Humboldt County

Does this help you?
They also serve.

Thank you.
Do you know what happened to him while fighting the fire? Was he alone in an area? So sad.
Fires, when started, grow rapidly. Some are from dry lightning, some are arson. There's thousands of acres of dead timber due to drought and pine beetles.
It will be a long summer.
It is a safe bet that many seeps and springs that haven’t dried up, are being dammed and diverted to the dope growers plots. Many of the fires are started by cook fires that got away from the dope grower, many times they are illegals camping out there and tending the crop. Just starting the fires and growing the dope Americans refuse to do.
Sad to hear.
No, in those counties the dope growers grow for co-ops.
They grow in their backyard and barnyard and use the water hose to water.
In Sonoma County you can call the Sheriff out to tag up to 99 plants if you're willing to pay the tax.
It's possible to produce 30 pounds of clean bud per plant on the North Coast.
These guys produced 618 pounds off the Mendocino County limit of 25 plants:

I haven’t lived in Mendocino county in over 25 years, I used to really like it there, but I’ve seen quite a few articles that talk about water being diverted for grows. There are even satellite images showing the diversions and grows. Here is just one such article: http://qz.com/450604/marijuana-farms-are-drying-out-californias-rivers-to-the-distress-of-spawning-salmon/
I hope not all were set.
I live in Clearlake. The Rocky Fire started in an area that hasn’t seen wildfire in years and was basically overdue. Lots of dense brush just waiting for a spark. It’s nature. It’s what happens. That said, they don’t know how the fire started yet,
So far it’s clear in northern Santa Clara County. The last time we had severe smoke was the big Summit Fire in the Santa Cruz Mountains seven years ago.
I’m saddened to hear about the loss of Mr. Ruhl.
Wow, I had no idea. 50,000 grow sites in CA sucking illegal water.
May God watch over you guys.
The map I saw today on FNC looked scary, and you guys don’t exactly have a surplus of water out there thanks to moonbeam, and his buddies.
I remember and old joke about CA (no offense meant)
A guy told me he didn’t want to live in CA because they didn’t have seasons.
I answered him, “Sure they do. Earthquake, Fire, Mudslide, and Riot!”
Hopefully make you smile. :)
Stay Safe.
