The State Attorney's Office in Tallahassee, Fla., released surveillance video on Monday showing FSU quarterback De'Andre Johnson punching a female student at a bar a month ago.

If they actually dismissed him, some other college will pick him up. Particularly if the recruiter watches the video.

The scene starts out with her squeezing by Johnson to get to the bar. She looks over her right shoulder and says something to him. He forcefully squeezes to a spot to her left and there are words. The video shows him grabbing her right arm, pushing her back, and putting his right hand up under her neck. In my opinion she was under assault, and she reacted defensively.
I really do want to hear what the woman has to say about it.
I don't see that. Looked like she was just going up to the bar to order with him right on her tail, saying things to her, then possibly touching her butt. Watch how she suddenly turns in response to 'something' he does (at 13-14 secs into vid).
From your description, it sounds like he initiated a physical encounter. I’d think that would make him responsible for what followed.
In the old days, when a woman strike a gentleman, the gentleman just walks away. But since the “WOMAN’S REVOLUTION” declaring that they be treated “EQUALLY”, these women are getting their wish. They are being treated “EQUALLY”. There’s a lot to be said for the “OLD DAYS”

Keen observation. How did the majority of folks not see it. This is why the jury system worries me, relying on eyewitness accounts of the average schmo. Most people, it seems, wouldn't notice Godzilla walking down the street!, let alone the often critical, not-so subtle details of an event happening before them. I pray to God that I'm never falsely accused of a serious crime.
I watched that video, and all I saw was the girl hit him, and him return the favor.

Unless you have first-hand knowledge of these people and the event, your speculations and conclusions don't make sense and bear no weight under scrutiny. If you do, you'd better sign on as a defense witness at the trial...
