This time of year, there are always warnings about the risks and hazards involved with shooting off fireworks. Many listen to those warnings.
Some do not. Jason Pierre-Paul did not, and it cost him, dearly. Pierre-Paul, the Giants 26-year-old star defensive end, suffered a serious but apparently not career-threatening hand injury Saturday night setting off Fourth of July fireworks at his South Florida home.
While the full extent of the damage is not yet known, it is believed Pierre-Pauls suffered significant burns on his palm and several fingers, and one finger may have sustained nerve damage, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. He was admitted to North Broward Medical Center in Deerfield Beach, Fla., for treatment.

The stupid is strong in this one.
Hold mu 40, and watch this...
Crikey.
Place on ground, light, stand away. The cheap knock-offs, however, say: light, stand in place, wait.
Propane torch?
Will the NFL let him wear a hook?
“Aaargh, me tackle you to ground matey!”
Given the likelihood of reduced tackles and interceptions, and the realization that he might not be the brightest player at his position, I’d say that little trick could cost him millions.
Who was that guy that had his hands insured for a million bucks ( a long time ago)?
“That’s gonna leave a mark!”
From the nature of the injuries, it sounds like he was holding while it was going off. I remember as a kid, back when fireworks were a new thing, there were annual warnings to never hold a Roman candle in your hand while it was ignited. Here’s a question - Have all of the prohibitions on the personal use of fireworks dumbed down the population regarding their safe use?
no kidding
It blew up and tore a hole right though his palm, you could see right though his hand...
I went to visit him in the hospital and they had sewed his hand to his stomach so the skin would grow over the hole in his palm, they did a skin graph on the top of his hand...
From that point on, he was known as "hairy palm Joe" since the stomach skin had hair on it and it grew on his palm...
I kid you not...
Remember he is a college man! Obviously his degree is not in common sense.
We might consider the idiot who put the firework motar on top of his head and set it off, killing him. “Police said Staples had been drinking with friends at one of their homes.........” Seems that there is a lot of stupid shared by a lot of people.
Wisconsin is loaded with places to purchase fireworks, drive down any interstate and you will find one at every exit. Fireworks are sold everywhere but there is a state law that PROHIBITS anyone to possesses fireworks. How the hell can you sell (means you have them in your possession to sell), buy fireworks (means you possess them once you buy them) and NOTHING is ever done to outlaw them completely? There is an obvious answer, SALES TAX MONEY!!!!
Is it legal to pay a tax something that is illegal?
