Was a great movie. Saw it at a drive in theater in rural Maine. Awe inspiring on the BIG screen.

For some reason one of favorite non-stars in that movie is the idealist liberal girl with the big eyes on top of the building. She is with the other hippie types hoping to ‘bond’ with the aliens and then gets blown away to smithereens.

That was the last movie I saw in a movie theater.
19 years.
I just haven’t come across a movie I wanted to pay to see.

I saw a panhandler the other day who had a sign that said “My ex-wife was visited by an alien”
Does that have something to do with what happened in 1996?

This reminds me of a guest whom Clyde Lewis had on his radio show (a kind of bargain-basement Coast-to-Coast).
The guest claimed to be a Marine Corps veteran of the US forces on Mars.
But no one called up to thank him for his service.

And how the audiences cheered when the aliens blew up the White House b/c of Clinton—Imagine how that scene would play first-run today! Har!

"Apparently benign alien emissaries show mankind how to end the misery of war, plague and famine. The Kanamits, nine-foot tall aliens, arrive on Earth with one lofty goal: To Serve Man. They end war, they end famine. They make the military wonder: what's the catch?"
